its just a truck - not worth driving if the wages don’t pay well enough.
granted its a nice truck but would rather drive a stralis for more money than a v8 scania for less.
Yes, but WWW could be great payers as well?
I think when you get to buy trucks like this, its more than just “a truck”, bit like cars, it becomes a passion or obsession or even both!
Whichever way, great to see!
We are passionate about trucks… I get excited when we have a nice one coming. I like giving trucks like this to drivers who I know will look after them… …
In regards to wages… Ask my drivers !!!
I think they do ok !!
Surely the residuals help a lot when considering a truck like this. Yes it costs a lot more than say a Stralis but in a few years time the Stralis is worthy only for Export whereas they’ll still be queue of OD’s waiting to purchase a Black Amber

A 5 year old well looked after high spec V8 scania is always a very sizeable deposit o a newer truck.
A 5 year old Renault premium is worth hardly anything !!
You get what you pay for !!
Scania’s are expensive but the extra expense is returned when you sell it.
Looks 10x better already with the visor off , I’m not too keen on the black amber but some of the pics it looks really nice , interior is nice , why the 2 screens on the dash ? Cameras ?

One of the screens is a blind spot camera there is a camera on the off side Sun visor. It is great for junctions and roundabout and when stuck in traffic !!
personally would go for the fh16, given the choice (never been a scania fan).
and yes if the wages are ok then by all means give drivers the tools to do the job easier my point was and it was not meant in any way as derogatory but you do tend to see a lot of bling bling companies who pay the lads crap for the privilege of driving a nice truck.

BUT:
The kind of dough your spending on the “Black Amber” would prob get you TWO new Premiums/Magnum or
dam close to it
Yes in 5yrs they may be worth near “Diddly squat” compared to the V8 Scania’s but run them right and they’ve grossed
DOUBLE
I now drive a “blinged up” Topline R480 and to be honest I’d take the MAN TGX480 back tomorrow,
its better in EVERY department(both driving/living) to the Scania apart from reverse gear

Each to their own… Ray has always said and I quote ““if I won a Renault in a raffle, I wouldn’t even pick it up””
