R730WTS would look nice as private plate but its gone, but if you have an R500 theres R500WTS @ £200.
We have 8 Scanias & 8 DAF XF 105’s
The scania’s are…
1 x 500
2 x 560
4 x 620 - (Inc 1 Dark Diamond)
1 x 730
What’s the best/worst on fuel ■■
The DAFS are about 8/9 mpg
The Scania V8’s are all about 9.5/10.5 mpg, the 560’s are probably the best.
Cant comment on the 730 yet as it is not even run in, it has only done 56k
But to be honest it all depends on the driver. As always.

Presumably then your volvos are not quite so good !?
That’s good fuel returns actually.

Not disputing the fact the bloke has been working his [zb] off for 35 years and good luck to the owner.
end of the day it is a truck it is there to earn a crust simple, I would rather of spent that profit on making my business better.
As a owner if I could of paid my drivers say an extra 20p an hour or run that I would rather pay my drivers more to get a better staff less turn over etc.
+1
Hope you all remember this little toy he has bought himself next time you ask him for a pay rise!
Maybe he’s happy with his drivers, maybe his drivers are happy with him. It’s all just pointless speculation. If the man wants to buy that why not? He earns his money just like you or I. It’s just I, and maybe you, can’t afford an R730. My Dad works out of meat factory that they do a lot of work from and he says their drivers have no complaints.

Is that the factory in Llanybydder?
It is. He works for Brian Thomas that do the UK work out of there. Although Dad barely gets 15 miles from the yard these days. Which is just how he likes it.

No Volvos left. All gone. The 660 was a trade in on the 730 !!!

As for only using it 3 days a week, that does not make any sense. Why spend ££££ on a wagon that’s only going to be used for less than half a week. If it was me, I would have it working as much as I can, regardless of the low mpg returns.
And me, a truck is a means to an end ie to work to make money, if he feels like that he should buy a Ferrari. Not jealous …honestly

Give me a choice between that truck and a Ferrari, I’d take the Scania every time.

Have you been using some mind altering mushroom ingredients in your famous Camion Cuisene Luke?
If only I had, mmmm mushrooms*. I just really don’t like Ferraris. Or any Supercars really. Now if it was the R730 or a new BMW M5 then the answer would be different.

But you’d earn even less with a Ferrari and most supercars are about as practical for everyday personal vehicle use as a tractor unit.

I seen McBurneys 730 pulling a Asda decker on the A69 today , what a waste of 300 bhp and it looks [zb] in yellow
That 730 Scania and the 700 Volvo may not be as powerfull as you think . Despite repeated warnings to lift the right foot the drivers knew better . McBurney sent them back to Scania and Volvo and had them both screwed back to around 550 hp . Fuel consumption has reportedly improved .

*disclaimer- I have never tried magic mushrooms
Hmm, yes: and whilst you’re considering the M5, what about an Alpina B5 Biturbo?
