Oops..looks like i have been caught speeding :(

Yep…looks like i have been caught…37ish in a 30…

My own fault for not paying attention…not going to pretend it isnt.

On way to my 3rd drop, as i was warming back up i noticed my wedding ring was getting tight, i had some how squashed it and it was starting to hurt my finger.

Went round the round about from a n.s.l on to the main street going into the town and i carried on trying to sort my ring, clearly missing the 30mph sign. Then i noticed just ahead a speed van, realised i was out the n.s.l and hit the brakes, noticed i was around 37ish.

As i got closer to the van i noticed back windows was closed and intetnal light was on inside ( i could just make out the camera behind the tinted glass)

Went and tipped and decided to go back past and noticed this time he had the window open. Must off been around 20mins between ech time (0715/0735)

So im just clinging on to the tiny bit of hope that it wasnt set up and i get away with it ( thats not my luck though )

Annoyed with myself as i usually just pootle around nice and steady.

So expecting a fine, disciplinary from work with a warning. And maybe a telling off from the t.c ( if they get involved )

That is all…

Enjoys your sundays chaps

I doubt the TC will be interested in what is a minor fixed penalty offence which may yet result in a speed awareness course anyway as long as you fit the criteria.

If you’re company does DP you they’re just daft and possibly have someone installed in the ridiculous position of “compliance manager” or other such ■■■■■■■■.

Pretty sure it’s three years for the course so you may be alright and get offered another course.

Unless you found it so boring first time round you just fancy the points instead

Certainly was boring…but deffo take that over points lol.

I will just buy some of them fake eye glasses this time

Band A fine at worst so 3 points and 50% of your weekly wage.

Under new rules above 40MPH in a 30 puts you in Band B which can be a fine of a weeks wage, 4 points or up to a 28 day disqualification so at least you’ve not that to worry about.

a fine of £130 shouldnt be too terrible if your an agency driver then?

+1
I’m sure the window has to be open to allow the laser/ what ever it is to operate correctly or it would just bounce off the glass.

You’ve nothing to worry about if the window was closed.

I tried googling about the window thing as soon as i stepped foot indoors, some say it dont matter some say it does.

I thought exactly what you guys thought though.

Strange thing that got me was 20 mins later going back past ( went that way back on badness ) was that it was open, lights off inside. Now surely he would of been like that before, the weather was same so not because of that.

Im just clutching at straws i know lol

I usually try and stick to a 30, but I’ve done the same as you mate, inadvertently broke the limit, maybe mistakenly thinking I’m in a 40, doing something similar to you, or simply just bloody daydreaming. .
I would just ■■■■ it up tbh, take what comes,.and put it down to experience,… or if the window was shut just learn from it. :bulb:

I have not got a problem with camera vans in a 30 zone, as usually the danger potential is higher in these areas,.and I do see the point.
However what does boil my fluids big style, is when they sit on a trunk d/c, or a m/way where it is relatively safer on the whole to travel at high speed, purely revenue raising. :imp:
There is footage of me in many places showing my opinion to them in those cases with various hand gestures. :smiling_imp:
Good luck with the outcome bud anyway.

I only was not paying attention because i was to busy trying to sort my wedding ring out as it was hurting lol.

This is what made me miss the 30 sign, and i did not even realise i was into the town lol.

As said, im clutching at straws and praying it was not on, but if it is i have no complaints, only myself to blame ( and the wife - if i was not married i would not of squashed the ring there forr not gone over 30 lol )

Im same as you rob, agree with them in 30 zones in well populated areas etc, but some are just pointless and plainly making money.

Brilliant idea mate :sunglasses: …blame the wife.

When they first appeared in ■■■■■■■ I asked on the official forum about them having the glass closed after accidently going a little quick up the M6.

Was told by the guy who ran the cameras, they cant shoot through the glass for the above reasons so sounds like you will be alright.

Maybe - just maybe you stopped laughing out loud and concentrated on the driving then this won’t happen again .

I know these vans are a pane, but at 07:15 you were probably just outside his window, so if you really wanted to crack this, I’d just reflect on your speeding.

This is why you should never play with your ring whilst driving! If you really have to play with your ring then park up first - I find it helps to apply a little bit of lubrication around your ring before you start… the rest I’ll leave to DD

after i got done few years back i asked about ,and as said above,if the little windows closed the cameras not working. youre safe!
