I was thinking the same thing Switch, he’s too portly to get out a sun roof
No reason not to use the passenger side door that I can see?

.Normal humour resumed then,Luke?
That ■■■■■■ 5hagging midget could use the escape hatch…
Dave the Renegade:
They weren’t the only firm to have vehicles damaged today. It can happen to anyone when conditions are like that !
the problem is dave its happening all too often, last year in the snow they managed to jacknife 15[yes fifteen trucks ] at our depot alone
,one lad did it 3 times
,i think there was 60 odd trucks at the time.
one manager[whos never drove a truck] wrote out a sheet for them telling them how to drive in the snow, ice, break gently, leave more stopping distance etc,you really shouldnt be having to do that, common sense should tell you it.
they told me it was taking the trucks five hours to get to leeds,i left and got to oldam in 2 ish hours, the radio was warning you of jacknifed trucks all over a1 pontefract area,so what did they do,drove straight up the a1 to get on m62,i cut across m18[not too good] and then m1 was clear, some of them dont seem to be able to think for themselfes, alter there driving style etc etc
one pulled in a layby full of snow, got stuck, wrecker,so he could get his sandwich box out of his bag
.
accidents can happen to anyone,we all know that, but 15 jacknifes leaves me too believe theres something fundementaly wrong, the worst aspect to me is,id be gutted if i pranged a truck, ive only ever took the top off a indicator lense[my fault entirely],i was ■■■■■■ off, gutted, embarresed,a lot of these lads find it funny, theyve just busted up a truck and they laugh, dont give a ■■■■,id love to stand here and say there all ■■■■ hot drivers, but the results[accidents ]speak for themselfes, its rubbish,10/60/61 reg trucks with gaffa tape holding the bumpers together, the back of every cab hit, every corner hit
they recon when they came in for decommisioning theyd never seen a level of damage like it,unpresented was the word used[doubt thats spelt right].
as i say im not perfect but my aim when i go out is get the job done and bring the truck back as it left the yard,a bit of pride, some just couldnt care less what gets done, and what state the truck comes back in

I couldn’t possibly comment ,or be so cruel !!! Oh! go on then !! Looks like that geezer on the outside was trying to talk the “Elf” into climbing out of the roof hatch, but the “elf” appeared very reluctant to emerge as he didn’t know wether the smell of ■■■■ was in the cab or on the outside !!! Seriously,I do hope the driver was unhurt.Bewick.
Glad the driver is ok and sounds like it wasn’t his fault.

My mate tipped a 4 tonner that I was crewing with him.
No problems getting out for me straight through the windscreen and straight on the road in front of the wagon.
Nearly got ran over by a Vauxhall Astra
Managed no more than cuts and bruises.
Before Christmas they weren’t running anything past Carslisle and then they let the driver make the desicion once the ban had been lifted.
Must have cost a packet in refused loads and loads sold to other hauliers.
gogzy:
its great to be scottish right now…no snow
no rain
no freezing rain
and its kinda warmoh and its dry outside
Don’t get too used to it, it’ll be back to normal soon enough.

I’ll vouch for that.
Whenever we go out to a rollover, the first thing we need to do is to make sure the park brake is on.
99% of the time it isn’t, after all not many drivers are going to be concerned about it rolling away when its on its side
But we definately don’t want it to roll as we’re lifting them back onto their wheels.
So we gotta get in them and put the park brake on, them doors are heavy, one lad to hold the door, the other to climb in.
And when you’re kneeling on the side of the cab, make sure your knee isn’t over the edge of the door frame when you ‘drop’ the door closed
