My initial reaction was shop him because he’s having your potential pay rise away.
Having looked at all the responses you’ve had in looking at it a different way.
Shop him because he’s putting his wallet above everyone else’s job. We all know margins are tight and you’ve very fortunate to be earning a decent profit out of haulage.

So you are not a grass, you are however an accessory to the crime itself, you are allowing it to happen. You are not helping him with the actual theft, but as you are aware of it and watch him do it, you are encouraging him to continue doing it.
What else is this guy nicking that you haven’t seen yet. I would walk straight in the boss’s office and report him, you don’t know where he is going to stop. His moral compass is obviously not working, what else is he lax about, what else is he nicking, what other law or regulation is he ignoring?
A guy like him doesn’t belong in our industry and it is up to you to boot him out, you can’t unsee what you saw. I would rather be a grass then knowingly let someone be a thief.

Lusk mate its even more than £50 a week as diesel is about £1.37 a litre on the forecourt and that guy is nicking 50lts a week.

I can’t see what wrong with an anonymous letter.
Perhaps a punch in the face might work and is arguably what he deserves it only drags you down to his level

200 ltrs a month ( that about £200 worth of fuel he’s having each month) and thats what you know about but he’s probably having stuff out the back of the truck aswell so could be putting contracts at risk aswell if thats found out.
