Harry should have gone to" Specsavers", he is still in his new bathroom,   and he has just finished off a bottle of malt,   and he got alittle hot under the collar and his glasses got a bit misty!   But no one tell him, :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: he deserves a little happiness in his later years! I done years of travelling to Scotland and a lot in the winter, and it was always 10/15 degree’s colder than at home. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: When I started off, I felt it getting colder soon as I past Leicester, then Derby, little more at Sheffield unless the furnaces was working, by the time I got to Harry’s area I had got a extra layer of clothes on. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:     Scotland and the wind chill factor, I got my load dropped as quick as I could, so I could return to warmer climate.

Snowing here tonight Norm.Going from past experience we got to have a good snowstorm to clear this cold spell :unamused:  .
Cheers Dave. ( sat in the warm )

Get ready on sunday/monday,wind is changing to gale force N/W or N and snow showers forecast, might go sledging on Snaefell if our lass will drag me up t’mountain.

We got away with the snow yesterday only a light dusting as we had dispatched it far and wide so everyone as a share for we did not want to be greedy and keep it all
cheers Johnnie

Aye Johnnie, we were at the Hallamshire Hospital all day yesterday and I was amazed that the fields were virtually green over Baslow Moor, we still have most of what fell on saturday here! I guess I COULD say that it was the hot air around Steel City that kept it away, but I wouldn’t be so rude as to even suggest that on an open forum.

Pete.

hiya,
Still sub tropical here in County Durham, I have dug a couple of pairs of shorts out of the holiday suitcase to take advantage of the heatwave and am also considering trading the hatchback in for a convertible, er Jen would you get me an iced drink please, OK pet I’ll get my own and I do know what I am thank you, yes one of them as well.
thanks harry long retired.

I have been out this morning to check that all well with my mansion and the surrounding lands (garden  ) and not a sign of frost. The Limo on the sweeping approach to grand pile is totally clear and needs no scraping at all. Ps that description means i’m at the wrong house or the “Bushmills Haze” is affecting my brain again. regards from the “frozen north” Kev.

sammyopisite:
Dave we are so tight in Yorkshire that the rain freezes before it hits the ground so it does’t run away and we have instant ice :open_mouth:
cheers Johnnie

No, no, no, we are not tight…just “thrifty”. We are a bit like the “Jocks” but without their generosity…

And remember folks, you can tell a Yorkshireman… but you can’t tell him much.
And the best place for snow is a picture on a Christmas card, bloody stuff. My domestic staff and myself had to walk home (3 miles, uphill, in the bloody snow) last Saturday night from Dewsbury railway station. No taxis, no buses, nothing. :imp:

Oh dear not nice Brian. We have got a taxi operator in this village, but I doubt if he knew how to drive on snow,as for railway station’s the nearest main line is 26 miles away at Hereford.Only been on a train once in my life back in 1959. So its snow tyres here or stay at home   .
Cheers Dave.

Well the roads and paths are clear now in Northampton, the tempature is 75/80, yes it is lads :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:    but only in my bungalow! outside it is 37.    But the snow on my garden is 3/4 feet deep, I must level it out, so it melts quicker or my little daffs shoots will be affected. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: I want it in full bloom when Harry googles my property.

Just googled your place Harry. Is that your cabin cruiser moored on the river wear at the bottom of your garden ?
Cheers Dave.

Dave if you see a cabin cruiser near our place there will be a lot of people swimming as we are around 850 feet above sea level so most of the country would be under water :unamused:
cheers Johnnie
