Chris and revman both know them so when they come on they may know.
cheers Johnnie

Well Chris being you are in a very generous mood you might as well double the few grand and then I can buy Harry and Larry a drink with it being so coldcheers Johnnie
P S we will drink to your good healthP P S would you send it by express courier before I get desperate
Can’t afford DHL/Fedex/TNT so have given t’cheque to IOM Steam Packet skipper, ferry will dock at 2330 toneet(unless it runs into a wind farm) so get there afore Morecambe Dennis. Only an hour and half from Sheffield to Heysham ovver t’Snake, just watch that bit of snow.
Anonpissinmesenwilaughteriom.
Chris the cheque never arrived and now the snow is making the roads very hazardous so it looks as if I will have to be house bound cold and starving for the foreseeable future and with a bit of luck we will survive
A very cold and poor pensioner Sheffield
P S It looks as if the emergency medicinal supplies will have to be opened

Two inches of snow here Johnnie, not a lot compared to years ago.Only trouble is half the drivers don’t know how to drive on it.Got very little in the way of emergency supplies, but got plenty of will power and a transit with snow tyres .

Dave you would be able to pop up to Morecombe then and collect the cheque Chris sent you can have 10% in fact I am feeling generous as well so make it 25%
cheers Johnnie
Yes Im afraid the bloody snow has arrived here at Ponteland, & its minus 2 at the moment, This calls for serious action, get the antifreeze out, the one made in Scotland, barley squeezings, you cant beat it, & ive just realised that its a leap year, so thats good, it means another 3 or 4 drams of medicine, one cant miss a day can one, Regards Larry.
Johnnie & Larry get some sump oil guinness down your necks it will do you more good than that firewater or moonshine that you blokes drink .
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
My wife arrived home from doing a spot of food shopping and as an added extra she bought one of those plastic snow shovel thingy’s, she has more chance of being struck by lightning if she thinks I’m going to operate it, I have placed it by the front door just in case any heavy snowfall coincides with bob a job week and then i can get the job done cheaply for a shilling “be prepared” that’s me and if the scout mistress is a looker she just might get invited in to be warmed up.
thanks harry long retired.

If you clear a path to your front door Harry and someone falls head over apex they can sue you.As you probably know if you don’t clear it they can’t.Leave to the scout .

Larry,Ibbotsons ran ERFs and their yard was on Lodge Lane Aston near Sheffield. They also ran under the name of Carbrook Transport. Most of their work was out of Samuel Fox/BSC at Stocksbridge.I didn’t know any of their drivers though.

Pete.

I think Harry would take some tutoring to get him on a shovel these days Pete .We had a couple of inches here, but it was raining about half an hour ago which has probably made things worse.I think I will stay put for a coupe of days.
Cheers Dave.
Dave Harry could be like me it would take you several days just to show him how to hold correctly ( like the right end ) so it would be far simpler to do it for him
Cheers Johnnie

hiya,
Dave very disappointed today it’s stopped snowing and we are bathed in beautiful sunshine, disappointed because i won’t get to try my new boys toy out (my wifes description) so all you guys who were mad keen to give me the necessary tuition can have a lie in, wonder if the shop accepts returns I could get her money back
and re-invest it in brewery shares on the way home, now there’s a thought.
thanks harry long retired.

Hi Harry,
Just been reading in the Sunday paper about the panic buying because of the snow, supermarket shelves empty and petrol pumps running dry.Don’t know why they are panic buying most people have freezers and two thirds of them don’t know how to drive on snow .Sunshine here as well Harry the snow is melting. We didn’t get more than two inches, seen deeper frosts
.
Cheers Dave.
Been out playing snooker with my mate John, I have been trying to teach him to drive in snow ie not to brake to late and sharp, use your gears, keep your speed constant going up hills, ahh for christ sake don’t stop on a hill!
why he said
Well we are nearly at my bungalow pull up, he then said I could have pulledup outside your home, ah but you would never find out why you never stop on a steep hill.
I went in, changed my coats and walked out with salt, snow board with a handle and my mate was still reving away. John have you found out why you don’t stop on a hill in snow
Yes you B*******d, I used my board and salt, and my mate drove off, I do not think my mate John was too pleased.
Some people do not like to learn the hard way like we had to do.
Ps I cleaned my drive and paths out front, that bit about getting sued is a load of baulderdash, the council said no one would be sued. I think it was a rumour that Harry put out so he would not have to clear his snow away!
The sun melted most of my snow from the path
Chicken wire under the wheels when you stop on a hill
