Norman Ingram:
Don’t forget “Bumpers” called fenders, when I was a kid a fender used to wrap around the fireplace.
Aye & they refer to an accident as a fender bender, and an artic. as a big rig. & loads are termed as cargo or freight, I wonder what they call their boolas ? Regards Larry.

Harry Ive just finished my evening meal, & retired to the easy chair in the lounge, to be handed a large Glenmorangie, by my good lady, the first of a few I hope, So heres wishing you a merry xmas & a happy new year, allong with all our friends on the thread, Larry & Margaret.
Well im on my third large Glenmorangie, Im full of cold , so I might as well get full of whiskey to combat it, I think the cure is better than the cold symptoms, & hopefully I will wake up on Xmas day cured of the cold, but I will still have to carry on with the remedey just to make sure it stays away. Regards Larry.

hiya,
I have asked Santa for a drip stand like they used on me when in hospital so’s I can have a constant supply of single malt going in constantly even when asleep i will insist the that the pipe is inserted via my mouth, well you wouldn’t want to bypass the taste would you, that would be a waste and I’m trying to economise, and I’ve almost drunk both mine and the wife’s fuel allowance, PS she doesn’t know it’s gone into my bank account yet.
thanks harry long retired.
Harry my good lady has agreed to give me another shot before we retire to our bed, Oh she is spoiling me, or is she just after something ? I hope so after all it is Xmas, & Santa only comes once a year, The lucky old devil Eh, here is hoping it may be my lucky night. Regards Larry. or should I just have another Glen ?. Regards Larry.

hiya,
Ah today, I don’t know about who is the oldest on here, but I’ll dare bet there aren’t many who feel older and rougher than I do today, I should have more sense, more sense, bah humbug where’s the fun in that methinks, it’s time for the hair of the dog, and who knows could even be twice as rough tomorrow just call it a bit of bonus, cheers.
thanks harry long retired.
Nope Im fine think some people know me too well as did get 4 bottles of red wine 1 bottle of Ameretto 1 bottle of whisky & a new phone which I have no idea how to work
Well last evening I had to resort to drinking “blended”…a drop of Grouse, very pleasant really. Normally I’m an Islay man but when fiscal prudence (skint) demands it I like a taste of either Cutty Sark or JB, trouble with that is it’s not available in this country. I’ve heard stories about Islay “Ardbeg” ( never tasted it, expensive), I’m going to save up and get myself a bottle of that.
My domestic staff is guzzling Southern Comfort (she’s had a bottle given), I’ve had a taste but I’m not impressed.

Ardberg is quite pleasant has a peatey taste but does go down quite smooth
Have seen Cutty Sark & JB in this country as my dad would tolerate JB so have bought it for him
Fenwicks in the toon have a great selection of malts & blends, they will even order it for you if they dont have what you want. They got me a Wallace Liqueur Malt, very nice too. Regards Larry.

They sometimes have Wallace in there also the Whisky shop in Metro Centre have it ( may be a bit pricy in there though )
But Agree that Fenwick have a decent selection & will order any in for you

I like that. I can just see the scene:- “oh all, right, I’ll drink the stuff if that’s all you’ve got”
