Got the results from the prostate biopsies…not good :frowning: Could be worse so they still have a bit of diagnosing to do, bone scan next Friday. See what the consultant says then.

Hiya,
Tell you what GOM this getting old isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, given the choice
I’d have stopped having birthdays when I hit thirty five wasn’t even registered at
doctors surgery in those days.
thanks harry, long retired.

Best of luck GOM. Had my 3rd Chemo on Monday - This cold weather is bad news on the nerve ends. Is there such a thing as growing old gracefully?
Wonder if Prince Philip follows through. Jim.

Keep breathing Brian and Jim. I was offline most of last week, and have only just read your post’s about your health issues. Keep positive chaps, and you will be OK.
Cheers Dave.

Someone told me once that when you wake up and can stretch your arms out without feeling any wood then you are still alive and well, scares the sh*t out of me when I am away in the caravan though! :open_mouth:

Pete.

Now then, hands up if this applies to you. Since i was 17 I’ve only EVER taken one driving test (passed first time, no HGV licences in those days) I’ve never had any more tests or official training ( I did once go to a police advanced driving course to observe :unamused: I had a ride and the ā€œadvanced police driverā€ scared the crap out of me). I got my training the best possible way, slow and steady, on the job, with old hands who were kind enough and patient enough to pass their skills onā€¦ā€œcome on Brian, let’s see if you can push yon drawbar into this tight yardā€. These days if you’ve got enough money anybody can become ā€œa driverā€
Happy days

Not me Brian, I had to take my class two test but then I suppose I am still just a pup? Didn’t pay for it though, Tilcon put me through it at Slaters Transport near Pickering, February 1976. There was an artic there as well for class one but, because we had none at that time, we just used the eight legger. It was another seven years before I went driving full time though.

Pete.

I have taken a PSV test in 66 then I had to take the HGV test as I was on different wagons in the qualifying period and a lot of it was on a twenty five ton highwayman ballast tractor which only qualified me fo a class 3 as it was a 4x2 but still pulling 55to 60 tons and some double bogie work so I took it more or less straight away and then in the 80s after being made redundant I went back on the buses so had to take another PSV test but this time I started in the driving school on a Monday and took test Tuesday and kicked out on Wednesday as the senior instructor knew what I had driven and told me Monday morning that I was not going to be allowed to toss it off in the driving school :unamused:
cheers Johnnie

Only tests I have taken are motorbike at 16,and car at 17. Was old enough to qualify for HGV under Grandfather rights. Passed my TM CPC’s National in 1989, and International 1999.
Cheers Dave.

Well Dave, I could ride motorbikes & sidecars, because my brotherinlaws had a few, but until I went in the Reme I drove everything, I went on a tank course at Duisburg and took a test on all track vehicles, I repaired a mobile crane, took a test on it, Diamond T & trailer, Mighty Antar, Bedfords, Champs, Willies, VW, Scammels, Carriers, and a few I have forgotten.
