Dave that’s one thing us old drivers have plenty of. The chaps at bowls club said you have done a lot in your life. Yes and enjoyed most of it. A lady bowler on the next rink,said Norman it sounds like you have been a bit of a lad, just smiled.

What do you think lads,if Harry is finding it a struggle to drive, could we think of ways to convert his caravan into a boat , he would be in his element cruising up and down the canals! He would have all the pubs to call into, if his whisky supply had almost gone, he could visit all the mates he has made on these threads, what do you lot think!

Cracking idea the caravan for Harry. You have your Carling connections,could you arrange for the pub delivery wagons to tow him in his caravan behind the wagons.

Returning from a visit to my brother in hospital at Preston, was in no hurry
so decided to have a little “tramp” along the old A6 for a lot of the way, it
was so quiet up Shap I was the only motor going North one solitary tipper
was travelling South he must have been empty he was travelling at a rate
of knots, Oh’ and the old Toyota went up and over without dropping a gear
unlike the old days when I would have used every “sprocket” in the box.

Bit of a nostalgia trip for you Harry travelling over Shap. I never drove a lorry over there, but have traveled over there a few times in cars and vans. Its one of those iconic roads from the old days of transport which even the young lorry drivers have heard of. These modern cars and even my tow sprinters will take these steep hills with ease. A different day and age.

Nowt to do with Yuletide but I’ve just read on Facebook that two penguins
in Israel have paired off and blood tests prove they’re both females it just
goes to show that us humans aren’t the only life forms with funny habits.
