well rocky7 you have me very confused to why your still working and paying 40% tax when you could of been sitting at home with your feet up enjoying life if you had taken out a pension, im not knocking workers im knocking those who chose not to look after there own future, i bet you live in a council house too,

hi rocky i also passed my medical today so will give it another year doc told me its a medical fact that people who retire early die early-my doctor wanted £164 for the medical-its £20 licence (photo change)&digicard 5years £19 thats over £200 to keep driving but went to another doc & got medical for£30-big differance-some people should have stopped at school longer-makes a differance not paying n.i.-revman

No rory I dont live in a council house I own my own detached house, and I work because not doing so I would vegatate, like you probably will if you retire at 55.

Hi Revman , so your another one on rory’s hit list LOL.
When someone starts running on about how much they’ve got I always think they are trying to hide something. Talk is cheap and doesn’t impress me. Over the years most of the people on here have summered and wintered bulls****ers, I know I have, either in a queue waiting to get tipped or loaded, in a cafe, or in the pub at night. I know it takes all sorts to make a world and it would be boring if we were all the same but some blokes I have been unlucky enough to get lumbered with must have thought that I looked like an easy target. why wouldent i beleave a man who thinks im sad because i save money for my retirement !!!
the “I dont take much notice of whats in front of me really” quote was obviously taken out of context and at a time of great shock, his age is of no issue same as his nationality he deserves jail as anyone would for a accident like this. very sad for everyone involved.

Where? Which post did I say that in? I attacked your “too old to work” and “taking a job from a younger man with a family” statements!!
And if you pay National Insurance contributions(another tax) are you not saving for the future?I know not much be if able to transfer these payments to your private fund a much better return!!

I don’t understand why you pay 40% tax because of your age… I am 67 and still working but I don’t have to pay NI so that’s great - I also get a better tax allowance because of my age.
If you are paying 40% then you must have a much better income than me - good luck to you for that but it’s NOT beacuse of your age.

If you are getting a good tax relief , you must have left your pension to mature rather than have it now.
This is fine, but if you pop your clogs before it matures, your widow ,or executives lose the lot.
Hopefully you have checked your private pension lately, don;t forget in the hammer smash of recession the biggest hit, was the pension schemes, do not want to ruin your day but I say get an update and good luck.
You may well be driving into old age also, I hope not but check all the same.
