hiya,
John “Jackie” Pullman nice lad worked with him at Consett BRS he was also my sergeant in Korea and Malaya back in the mid 50s, haven’t seen him for a lot of years he’ll be in his late 70s now I think certainly a bit more ancient than me.
thanks harry long retired.
hiya,
Yes I knew Jackie had worked for Gallachers but didn’t know he’d done a spell for Elddis,
like I said it’s a long time since I’ve seen him, when in the forces he was a regular and I
was only a national serviceman (2 years) but if you did your job he left you to it, he got
to the top, I stayed at the bottom, but that was my choice i was a born “do’er”.
thanks harry long retired.
Sorry for being a stickler old chap but the first pic was taken at Hazel Grove and the wagon was based at Hillhead quarry near Buxton Derbyshire and the second pic was taken at Cliff Hill quarry Leicestershire.
Tarmac may well have had wagons and quarries in the NE but let’s make it authentic eh? There’s a good chap.
