At a guess on the roundabout at the junction of Eskdale Terrace, John Street and Margaret Road. Clip from Google Earth Street View attached looking towards the roundabout from Eskdale Terrace. If I’ve guessed right the building across the roundabout (the Coble House Care Home) has been built on the site of the garage. All total guess work so now waiting to be shot down in flames.
Ray Brown:
This is the first time I’ve posted anything but wanted to share my photos of old truck that were special to me.lots more to share if anyone’s interested.
Yes please Ray, new (old) pictures bring back lots of memories.

Spot on, Ive had this picture for over 30 years, H.R.Atkinson Ltd built it and this picture was on their office wall when the were on the main road in Ponteland, The were in the process of moving into their new Contract House Building in Meadowfield Ind.Est, Ponteland I had the job of removing all the stuff they were disscarding and taking it to a tip at Kirkley Thorne, When I saw this picture I just put it into the cab and have had it eversince I new it was Culllercoats as the forman Tom Oliver informed me, Its going to a new home shortley at Killingworth to a pal of mine Richard Wilkes who owns Revol Ltd, He has a car auction site there and he will display it there along with other old pictures of interesting stuff. Larry.

Back load after delivering the long load (or just taking a chance that no one will complain)?
A colour version of an earlier post of Crows fleet. My father Jackie Brown drove the AEC Mercury from new.
Old Gateshead landmarks. Scott’s Garage, Tuckers Brewery, shop on Sheriff Hill bank. Loads more photos to post.

Hi Larry, I drove for Harry from being a young lad but just for a couple of years. I know of Bobby Brown (no relation) he used to come into Crows yard when he worked for Galleon Transport. The other drivers you mention I just know of through Harry but I believe they were from Scots Gap. The initial connection with Harry stemmed from him being in the army in France with my dad and Charlie Shepherd. Harry and I became lifelong friends and we shared a passion for transport and trucks. I used to have a pint with him every Sunday morning until he sadly passed away in 2015. I’ve got a library of personal photos of his business and a memory of tales and stories of his lifelong business dealings. He was a fascinating man who could turn muck into money by looking at it!! I’m posting more photos today of Tommy and Arthur’s trucks and a photo of old lime spreading trucks that were Harry’s. Thanks for your interest.
Lining my models up for the grandsons to select from. Hope they are as interested in old haulage as I am.

Few more TynesideI think that filling station on Scotswood Rd was owned by one of Ralph Crow’s family members. Regards Kev.
I was trying to locate it, was it next to Patterson’s??
Tyneside
Taking a guess from the background it could be what became the Jet filling station and is now the Hand Carwash just before the Dunn Street junction.
The filling station was owned by John Crow and when it closed all the stock ie fan belts ,filters etc were stored in an old office of Crows Transport in Abbott’s Road. Ray Brown.
