hi larry
that AEC that stood out the back of the bebside for years under covers and the chap used to work on it outside in all weather and was almost completd but sadly the old chap passed away .it originally came from the south coast and was used for fish transport around plymouth area ,there are some photos of it being ofloaded of a low lowder outside the bebside back in the late eightie.s.on a thread on here somewhere
.i was talking to a lady at red row rally who lives in the big red house on the level crossing and mentioned it and she told me this vehicle had gone back down south to the original owners to be restored fully cheers Paul

Hi Paul, Larry & 8LXB Brian. This is the AEC Mammoth Major that was parked up around Bebside in the late 1990s I guess, it is ex Sutton;s of Newlyn, Cornwall who ran fish up to Billingsgate. Owned by a chap called Reg Burns who lived in Byker I think but had been a driver for Greenwoods (St Ives) who had an office just off the Quayside. I think he had also driven for Cawthorn Sinclair and a few other well known Newcastle firms, I am sure some of you will know him. I met him once at The Metro just for a chat he was doubtfull that he would ever get the AEC restored as he suffered bad health. Here are a couple pf pics he gave me.

Hi anyone used to work for Flowers of York? Can you remember what happened to the pensions after they went into administration trying to track down old private pension?

Any help would be appreciated

It was taken over bu TDG

Some bad news I am back in plaster due to a bus driver moving away before I sat down just when thing were going well for recovery

Don’t worry the driver will know as I have made a complaint all buses have cctv now & the depot manager took me to hospital due to fact it was going to take a while for an ambulance
