Found these pics of Thomas Brothers of Murton, used to run mainly Ford Transcontinentals on tipper work.10

I remember them, they used to run other makes but I have forgotten which ones.

As well as many Transcontis I remember they stated to buy new Sed Ak 411s and they got Stratos when they were launched. They also used to buy second hand 301 8 wheelers amongst various makes in the fleet. Used to enjoy seeing the Fords - a change from the legions of F7s at the time.

Are they still going under some guise ?

I think that one of the sons ran tippers just down the road from Thomas’s old yard, LDS if I remember rightly but haven’t seen them about for a few years.Big Jeff would know better as it’s his neck of the woods and I think he worked for Thomas Brothers in their heyday.

Hi Night Shift Bri, They are still going I see them coming through Ponteland sometimes, Regards Larry.

Is that LDS in bough area ■■ if so they still going he in the Facebook page North East Truckers
