Used to pull the odd tank for Haley when i was on for Collinsons when they had busy spells moving the Alliuminam powder from Blyth to Lafarge at Purfleet. When P&O took them over the spirit drivers out of Felling had to come & do a bit they Hated it quite a bit different tipping powder. (yep it does look like Nosher in the Blue one)

Known Norman (and his late father Harry) since I was a kid. Our wagons and their Seddon 4 wheeler used to stand next to each other every Monday on the loading docks at the old Newcastle Mart. That was late fifties / early sixties. I think Norman rode shotgun straight after leaving school and then when he was old enough he did all the driving. Depending on the time of year they did the odd load of livestock for us and we did the odd load of Hay or straw for them.
Any one got any photos of Philips Transport Gateshead & Robinsons of Low Fell, It would be nice to see some of these old firms, Regards Larry.
