hi leyland600,the winter sun must have been a bit rough for you lads from the ■■■■■■■■■■ area using the A69, nothing worse than a low rising sun blasting into your face, thing was you got again on the return journey as well . marcus “blue comet” was that Garry glitters motor, bumper
jimmy & kenny remember little brian having a daf but dont know if it was blue comet, we had a photo somwhere of brian and joe pinkerton in the quernhow when he was on for the bushboard company , it was a f86, but looked all over for it when i was at home, that loft needs some sorting out as i am missing loads of photos. it was a funny photo because mick findlay and my dad where standing behind them when they got it took putting the two fingers up, they were wondering what maureen and brian where laughing at.

Anyone know who the driver is on the John Dee truck? I think it could be Trevor Cook a lad i have known for years. He was on Dee’s for a long time,he now works for Allinsons Darlington, Regards Vic.
Alright lads. just like to say great topic. been checking this out for a little while now. My dad((Mick todd) is an ex artic driver. he started at sheperds offshore and moved to waughes on whitley road with a few other lads (Big John lowes, ernie moy, Davie blyth, Martin, Eric burns.) He then left to go work at Securico Omega logistics which was based down in Huntingdon but he used to park his unit down in the team valley depot. He then Left and went to ramage transport and has been there ever since but just drives the sprinter vans now.
Ps that picture of Sheperds Offshore. is that Sammy Livermore?
adrian
i am not sure what sammy second name was.
