Old manc companys

hi rocky7,what year did you work for them.

It must have been about 1972/3 I still see johnny Illingworth now and again, but I aint seen or heard of any of the other lads. And no Iaint got any pics,my ex destroyed them when we split up. usual tale.she binned all my pics my boxing trophys everything I held dear.

TIPIT:
Does anyone else remember these from Reddish, their yard was behind what is now Halford’s at Lancashire Hill roundabout.
The Rochdale firm I driven for back in the 70’s (Zinc Alloy) use to get these in to do my deliveries around East Anglia and Essex, because they charged less to do the work than it cost to send their own lorry.

There was another Warburton’s Transport though around the same time in the 70’s - 80’s with Maroon & light Blue, signwritten B series ERF 6 wheel flats. I think they carried for Oldham’s Batteries, and their yard was around the area that the Stockport Pyramid has now been built.

just a bit of useless information for you tipit.
the clydsdale HNE722N started life at ferodo’s at chapel en-le frith before being bought by crabtree’s
we all thought it was going to the resting place in the sky for old trucks and couldn’t believe it when warbby’s bought it.
the clydsdale that they had pinched UNA696X. dexydog (who like me has just started posting) had it new.
it was the first 4 wheeler at crabby’s with a factory fitted sleeper
the six wheeler ERF they had JNC828V , i had at crabtrees, it had a 180 gardener in it and a JENNINGS sleeper :open_mouth:

Well c to c and tipit,if Crabtrees hadn’t bought it Wilsons would have had it.
