Here’s 1 for you Steve!
Just seen on BBC Oxford news that a Tuckwells’ mixer has run into the back of another wagon on the A34 today; Driver taken to hospital. Shame as Tuckwells are very steady.
im sure this was the truck that ended up as my shunter at didcot tower stores were it was used to move trailers by me for loading steel and cable drums for pylons in the 80s as H&M HAD THE CONTRACT[
Banbury Dan: I got your pm but can’t reply Hope you’re on the mend. Job’s going well in the quarry, very busy but not stressfull if that makes sense. Everybody keep a lookout for my old motor as new girl Stacy’s got it.
Timbmets’ red livery looked much better than their new white one.
Yes nathan , i loved there fleet of Roadtrains and Cruisers .
I remember back in the mid/late 70s every weekend behind what was the old Shotover Arms, Green Rd roundabout, Headington, (Ah the old Shotty Arms, wish I had a £ for every pint I had in there over the years, was Luker Bros 2nd home for many years
). Anyway, on the ground that is now Mcdonalds car park, every weekend there was 2 timbmet Leyland Clydesdale (sleeper cabs), with single axle trailers loaded/sheeted ready for Monday, they were painted in the old dark green Timbmet colours, I always thought that this was a better colour for a Timber company!
Hi Chris , didnt Dave who lived down St leonards rd park his Cruiser at Sandy lane over the week ends . I saw Colin yesterday in Headington .

Hi Steve, hope you OK mate! Yes I think he did now you mention it. I gona have to have a wander up there (see if I can scrounge a cupa rosey off you) & see if I can spot Colin, I know he’s had a bit of bad luck but it would be good to see him, I’ve known him for a lot of years, he was on H&M for a lot of years & he was a good driver & a good laugh!
You can’t beat a hug off your Mum . Took this round home to show Dad, why I have no idea, cos it was the biggest pile of doggy-doo I’d ever driven
. Same cab as the F7, now I had my old F7 on distance for Cannons & loved her, but in Renault form it seemed cramped & uncomfortable, crap gearbox, & it wouldn’t pull her pants down on a night-out! I hated the thing, but hey-ho, it’s a memory!
Andrew Morrison:
Hi Chris this one’s for you took it a few weeks ago on M3,i did get by eventually lol 0
Hi Mate, ah yes I remember you told me about him, seeing the reg.no I know who that is, he should know better!
Den’s Roadtrain, smartest wagon ever to run in Wincanton’s fleet As can be seen behind, when Wincanton took over running Cowley Transport the whole fleet was up-dated, artics/rigids/vans the lot! Can’t remember if I’ve posted the other 1 before, it was the 1st Roadtrain to join the Cowley fleet, early 80s, it was driven by Mick Hooper (R.I.P.).
Our old shunter at Bibby/Budweiser at Bicester, gota admit I didn’t mind doing the shunting, 12 hr shift but you were kept busy & with the walky-talky & clip-board you virtually ran the yard so the time flew bye! & this was a fun bit of kit to play with
