I think Nicky runs the wagons, Brian still well involved with the livestock. His wife died about 3 or 4 years ago…

Hi Big G, This was taken on saturday morning in Upper Heyford.
They must have 5 or 6 18 tonners and and 3 or 4 smaller ones .They use a very large hanger and always look reasonably busy !
Hi jakey & lightswitch,
Thanks for the info, as I say I had not seen anything of them in my travels, not that that means a lot, and the name doesn’t suggest a three generation firm to me! I thought the building looked a bit ex railway, but I can see now you say. Cheers guys.

Chapel House?
Here’s one for Jakey; This wagon was brought in to Gill Mill as a guest of Mr Vosa. Over a ton over gross weight, and over on rear axle. They were allowed to drop some of the load off at the workshop, and the wagon bottomed a few times coming off the weighbridge. The crews’ face was a picture when they realised they had to get out in the muck

Neville Melhuish still have small plant there. The Little Chef closed and reopened as "Ma Larkins. That closed and the cafe is a car showroom. Do you remember the cafe that used to be a bit further towards Enstone, opposite Southcombe Garage? Now called the Quiet Woman Antiques Centre and tea room?
Yes i remember it as the Quiet Woman theres a garage on the other side of the road or was

I’m sorry but I’d put a bag over my head if I turned up at Gill Mill in one of those Doyle motors In my view they get pimped like that at the end of their career when going to pull the dodgems…
