this is my truck x3 hvj 6 t sprinter , great vehicle for small removals or where the access is not good , It has a sleeper in the luton with a night heater and has a taillift for pianos etc , it also can carry two 250 cuft containers or one 330 cuft container with space at the rear end for any loose items .
Although I have a class one and was on distance work for 8 years I now have my own business and I try and be home each night , I let the other lads have nights out with my bigger trucks .
My brothers Daf and my nephews little3.5 t sprinters , all my trucks have night heaters , even the small vans .

Is that a dead fly I can see on the number plate!!!
This was my grampys first new truck , any one who knows where this is taken would know grampy was parked next to the Masons arms in quarry Headington , you could only guess he had nipped in the pub before going home and got trapped by what was going on outside .
Can’t think back that far Steve & with the black/white pics, have your colours always been red with gold/yellow lettering?
Yes mate .redand black , red and silver came in around 1975 ish .
Found this picture today , its a truck which I drove on Brs oxford Atlet contract in my early days on holiday relief , it was bloody mint , I found the truck in rush green motors a few years ago and phoned the regular driver on the phone , he was gutted to hear it was in a mess.
Since I last saw it some one has robbed the cab curtains and Hadley air horn.
Reg number E— leu , 265 rolls engine .
Latter on after 7 years of waiting I ended up with a three year old Man 320 , M890PWL , MINT condition truck delivering forklifts all over the uk .
Some great pictures there Jakey, how many trucks do you run these days
and do you have any classic ones tucked away somewhere?
Regards
Routeman

Hi routeman67 , we run 1 atego 13t (the hoff), 1 daf lf 10 t( my brothers) , 1 sprinter 6t ( mt skateboard) , 1 sprinter 3.5t ( gingers) and my dads little kangoo " the guvnor" .
We have no old wagons , wish we had one of the Dodge commandos which we had stirling service from , my brother loved his dodge and was not to happy to get a new truck ,

Hi JAKEY, Glad to see you got your pictures on, well worth seeing and interesting to see the phone number keep growing over the years. Love the one of the Austin FG, I will mark that down as an idea for a model for the future. Would I be right in thinking the motors were a deeper red colour back then.
Hi Big g , yes the early wagond were a post office red with black wheels and black mudguards .
thanks for the intrest in dads fg , he sid it was good wagon but the later commers were better , early tk he had was useless but it did have a petrol engine in ,First early commer had a perkins in with two speed axle and dad topped 80 on a few late nights coming back from Scotland

Jakey,
These Headington quarrymen have a Raymond Jacobs among them, he may have been one of your ancestors, it is not unusual to have names misspelt in the recording of history. Posted picture now edited out.
Big time apologies, I have looked further into this family and Jakey they are a different family, the connection I was making was from a history of the Headington quarry men. Sorry.

Hi JAKEY, I wonder, do you remember what wagon(s) your dad had in late '60’s and have you any pictures of them? Guess the Commers could have been around that time, I would be interested to see any of them if poss.
Ah! the old log books ay! I don’t reckon there were many O/D’s that didn’t have a couple of them on the go!. Did you have the ones you wrote all the places and times in or the ones with 15 mins. squares and join the lines up.
You could get along in those days when everyone had gone home and gone to bed!
