LOL sadly they don’t do that anymore had to take the round trip to Belfast a couple of years back when mine was up at least the four hour wait went quick enough with all those Belfast women to look at they must only let the pretty ones into the city centre!

Just go then. You may have some minor hassle getting back in but nothing to worry about. You okay the ‘oh bugger I didn’t realise’ trick. If I was in your shoes I wouldn’t turn it down over such a piffling affair
dunno how true it is but been told if you have your photo licence and paper counter part you may get away with it as a one off as your coming from eu country to eu country.
Otherwise my boy did a road trip to Newcastle on tyne an got his done that day

Yes, But we’re not in it.
Yes you can come back into the country without a passport, I had my Dad with me last October and as you do got mine out and asked Dad for his lots of o opps urm I haven’t got it! So we rolled up at the euro tunnel passport control and gave my passport and his driving licence, chap looks had a chuckle and says left passport at home?we say yeah then ok have a good day easy as!
You could always go to the British Embassy in Sofia, and get an extension. and answer my message

Send the passport for renewal and carry photocopies of the old passport and application form. Our drivers do that as advised by UKBA and have never had a problem as yet.

I’ll ring them tomorrow. I need to be sure, My past history with UKBA hasn’t been perfect.

In a truck they don’t seem to bother me, euro tunnel waved straight past and Ireland from Holyhead never been asked. The car is another matter, they like emptying my car for me every so often.
No one at all needs a passport for entering the UK, or any other document … just say ‘no speeke englasi’ an you’re in
