Just wondering if anybody ever felt the same really, I’ve been driving now for over year on class 2 and not all the time, but some times I find myself feeling really anxious and paranoid whilst driving, just things like over checking mirrors and hesitating through gaps id normally whizz through and worrying about tail swing all the time, just generally worried about things I usually take in my stride.
Does anybody else ever feel like this on occasion?
I would say yes, I do get raised anxiety levels until the first drop is out of the way, and then I’m ok. Nothing serious though. Also doesn’t happen on my regular routes any more.

You’ve only been driving a year mate, your’e still learning.
Experience breeds confidence, don’t worry about it, after a while it becomes second nature and you are on autopilot most of the time…trust me!
Are you perhaps over, say 45ish? ( trying to be tactful here) And is driving in the dark not quite what it used to be?
I am now nervous driving with the other half since he wrote my car off with me in it If we go anywhere that involves over a 40mph limit, then I have to drive. Nipping to the local supermarket, etc. then I am OK sitting in the passenger seat - just!

If I’m in a motor, then I drive it. Terrible passenger. I remember doing a mornings fuel training at work, you drive a set route, then the company trainer does it, then you try to match or beat his mpg.
When he drove, my head was in the shed, can’t remember the last time I felt so ill. Nothing wrong with his driving at all.

I’d have anxiety over the fact I needed pills to prevent anxiety!
I used to be paranoid about not having the brake on when I coupled up. Lost count of the number of times I had to claimb down and look in the cab to check before putting the red line on.
