Dave the Renegade:

Can you spot him on this side Harry, not into nautical terms myself, only the naughty ones.
Cheers Dave.
I was on the port side,we’d just fired a missile into Anglesey to wake 'em up and I was the observer.
Only thing I heard about the Navy was “Rum,Bum and Baccy”,whatever turns you on I suppose…

we spend our holidays near kinlochbervie dave , a big fishing port . when i see the number of memorials to lost crews they have my respect and admiration . also makes me glad i was a lorry driver & not a sailor cheers , dave
I have a print off Alan Spillett’s with a Kinlochverbie reefer,a M A N on it Dave.As you say a lot of tragedies, but for most of the coastal people up there it’s been a way of life for generations.I expect most of them have lost family or friends at sea.
Cheers Dave.
No Dave not me, I know Ships, boats are what you row!
For my brother was in the navy, I was in the army, the R.E.M.E., but as Harry was saying, the blunt end is the stern, and if you put your backside towards the stern, then point to the left, that is the Port side, the right hand is the Starboard, and straight ahead is the bow. I could never be a sailor, for I could swim.

Hi Norm,
I knew the stern and the bow of a ship, but as for the rest I din’t know, always like watching them, but as for the technical part, never really bothered to find out.Have been known to ask what marine engine is in a fishing boat, when I last asked in Looe, the bloke said it was daewoo,it sounded good.
Cheers Dave.
Hello Dave, you might have heard or seen me write about one of my old middle east buddy from BRS Overland Keith Shirley, he was ten years younger than me, but in his late fifties discovered he had got M/S, well it seems it is stopping him keeping in contact, for I think his hand control is not what it used to be, he has even had to change his phone. He don’t use his laptop like he use to, I just thought I do not know if he knows you can use voice control on it, he was on long before me, and told me, I would lose my rag with it, and throw it out of the window. But I always seem to work my way through the problems I have.
I have never been a person who discards his friends when they are not as fit as I am. Dave you your self know how people treat you different when you have something wrong with you! Or they advoid seeing you, just because they cannot deal with the situation.

Mark ,in those dark glasses, you look like the heavy mob from the Mafia, I hope you have plenty of money, for it will take at least three bottles of single malt before you will be able to Shanghi our Harry

Hello norman,
did you see the photo of me and harry at the drivers drink at xmas, its on old north east haulage companys page 18 and its the first photo, their is harry me and colin carhill, i am sure he had his hand in my pocket when i was distracted.
mark
Mark, I would not be surprised, he is a canny chap, I did see the photo’s, I have been chatting to Harry for a few years, I met him for the first time at the BRS show last July, I liked him before, but the meeting him, it just sealed the friendship.
Often I will video call him or him me on Skype and it is free, and we just chat, and that is important to two old timers!
