hiya,
Downtrodden ,old and ex-driver i can live with just so long as i’m not called an ex-trucker that would push me over the top and drive me even further along the road to alchoholism, the painting and decorating is finished just a bit of plumbing and electrical work to do, today will see my sparky skills put to good use today then i’ll need a lie down (and a drink) before tackling the plumbing jobs might even put that off until tomorrow, well Rome was’nt built in a day now was it.
PS one day i’ll get my own back on my kids even if i’m not incontinent i’ll pretend i am, that’s one of the perks of getting old.
thanks harry long retired.
hello norman & harry
i was going to offer harry a bit of help, but i think i might of got wrong off the wife coming back sozzled , just done a quicky over to holland for RTH-International i still like to keep my hand in with the driving every now and again, i am off another month yet as the ship is in dry dock getting a bit of a overhaul its 6 year old now so has to go in and get a full service and a lick of paint, by the time i go back i will have had 10 wks off lovely

mark
Heres one for you norman maybe you knew who drove this on middle east work
asian transport
Mark I think I saw one like that at Kapikule, I know I met one Londoner who did a trip, and he was in tears, and was telling me about all the bad luck he had with the wagon breaking down! I told him if it was getting to him like that, to give it up, he said it was his first & last trip, and he was a cockney. Norman
nice one norman, i would of liked the chance to have gone down their, but it would have had to have been with someone with experience first couple of trips, my first trip abroad was 88-89 with kris kristiansen ex van hee driver i went to milan and loaded near venice for back home then he put me with another driver for a week to germany, then that was it got on with it myself, but i had been shown a bit about the job first which was a big help. even these days the boss at RTH-lubbers puts the new guys away double manning first then that gives them a bit of a chance to see if they like it or want to stop on uk work.
regards
mark
hi norman
heres another one out of the scrap book
mark
Mark how they could say they they was roads, more like tracks, but I should not know about that place, having been nowhere near it.
If I am ever to meet you in person or catch you on skype I would tell you some of the things that came up on certain trips.
Just for fun, I got Londra camping up on the net, and it was advertising, the hotel, camping, TIR parking and Go-karting, I wonder if it is still going, or it is a old thread.

hiya,
You’ve got the jam-jar tested Norm nip up for me and we’ll have a run through and take a look-see i’ll share the driving, well as far as the ferry i might learn something new, they say you’re never to old to learn, but with me i think you’d have the game on you can’t put owt where there is nowt.
thanks harry long retired.
Harry I would love to go on a trip, and visit my old dives, but my feet would restrict me to my locality, it would be grand to see if they was up and running. Maybe we can get Keith to get a run and take us as body guards/ navigators,we would see he did not fall foul of beautiful sirens, who would try to steer him away from his work!
Hi boys
There would be nothing better than doing a trip out there again but from what I see it would be me trying to keep you too under control. you can just imagine it Norm chatting up the lady guards while Harry was trying to smuggle in his bag full of duty free, each boarder would be a nightmare
Regards Keith
hi keith
i could just imagine the two of them together down their , bet it would be a laugh though and good crack.

hiya,
Thanks for not associating me with the fairer ■■■ Keith you never know who’s looking in,
i leave all the shennanaginns to Norman he’s younger and better looking than me, i’ll
just stick to trying to get the booze back home, might have to resort to fitting out the
rear under run tube to take Bells bottles again.
thanks harry long retired
Yes lads it would be like Jack Lemon & Walter Mattheuw, one of them liked his drink & the ladies, I remember when I was going through the borders, you could get bottles of scotch for £2 per bottle. If Harry had been going then, he would take too long doing the trip, for he would have been drinking all that lovely whiskey.
As for me I would have to take so many " Blue Pills" with me nowadays, Keiths load would be overweigh, and thats not counting the bottles harry would have!

hiya,
Don’'t know about Jack Lemmon and Walter Mattheuw, I was thinking more Compo and Clegg with whiskey instead of Summer wine, now where did I put my wellies, howay now Keith is there room on the swan neck for my ferrets and Normans pushbike, and i’m only helping out with the driving as far as the ferry you’re not getting me hold of the handlebars where they drive on the wrong side of the road, but i will muck in with the roping and sheeting and give you a hand with the booze if you’re struggling.
thanks harry long retired.
Just thinking I might be able to help Keith out with the driving on the open roads, for he will have criuse control and the pedals are big, but in traffic he will have to take over, and Harry you don’t have to worry about driving on the righthand side of the road, for someone informed me, when in UK you drove up the centre!
I cannot remember who told me, it might have been Mark!
