What a great photo
Looks like they were having a good time, wonder how much diesel they burnt (in old money). They both look capable of doing some more shifts never mind about being retired.
Thanks Trev .
Hi boys
Chris Webb:
What a great photo
Looks like they were having a good time, wonder how much diesel they burnt (in old money). They both look capable of doing some more shifts never mind about being retired.
Thanks Trev.
Yes like you say Chris a great photo thanks Trev. Iām glad to see Harrys got his overnight bag but am not to shaw about Norms white shirt.Or is it that Norm is still trying to be whiter than white and has got Harry to carry all his ill gotten gains in that bag.
Regards Keith.
Had a nice day lads, nice to see Harry & trev, also Alex & fifthwheel, old Harry said one of the lorries was goodenough to go on the road and do a days work, I work it out, it was one of the trailers which held 20,000 bricks, I think Harry is as great in person as he his on these threads , we talked the legs off half a dozen donkey, we said it would have been perfect if Dave, Chris, and Keith had been there, Trevor H is a verey nice bloke, I wish we could have had more time together, but he was booked up at two events, and it was good of him to come and see two old codgers. We even mentioned " Rita Haywood" and what he would be like in the flesh, and how he would be wasting his time trying to wind us up, you only have to look at the photo to see we had it done to us by experts years ago, and it never worked then,
then I came on here to say Harry wouldnāt be home till tomorrow, and I thought our old mate Sinbin had not forgotten us, I was so touched, I nearly broke down and cried
, but you lads know I believe in fairies as well

Harry that depends on if you take my puffer or not, also if it is hot or not, I am like a fish out of water if the air is not fresh, all the lads on here would take the mickey, to see two old pensioners racing along the side of old BRS vechicles put back in prime condition, do you think someone could do the same for us old codgers.![]()

hiya,
Bloody hell Sinbin not a handbag it was my overnight bag being utilised to carry a very nice bottle of single malt around, sorry supped up now, but had a great weekend have managed to get Old Norm into bancruptcy, "he bought my breakfast"nice to to put a face to some of the contributers on here Alexville, Trev H and Old Norm, and the dedication of the guys who keep those old motors on the road and tramp them for lots of miles just so people can see a bit of history is just unbelievable, a great show and if the health holds out wil be at the next one, thanks for those dedicated people who make it all possible, and itās free.
thanks harry long retired.
Roger, in every good book or film there is good guys and villians, and you was unlucky to get the boo-ing part, and as I told you before, we are too long in the teeth to bear grudges, if I met you at at show I would shake your hand and if I was near a bar I would buy you a drink, I wish Trevor H had time to spare, I owe you one, as for the cap, I only put it on so old Harry could pick me out, and as soon as I saw this fellow smiling, I knew it was trev, so my cap was a success, but I forgot I was still wearing it, pity it stopped my beauty shineing through
, maybe it was the excitement of seeing Harry!

Last time I saw two faces like those they had numbers under them !!! Cheers Bewick. PS had youse two just sheeted and roped that motor your stood in fronāt of ?
hiya,
Not guilty of the roping and sheeting Bewick, itās a little Dyson trailer we are standing alongside being pulled along by a Bristol an exact replica of one i drove/pulled too many years ago to remember, but it did bring a little lump to the throat seeing that set-up again, happy days.
thanks harry long retired.
Did you notice lads, Harry kept a tight hold on to his bag, he did not let me hold it for him, and I do not drink now, but I must admitt he left it with me when he went to the toilet, he was going to enjoy himself, due to the fact he was away from she who must be obeyed, he did take water with his whisky, he just wiped his lips with a few drops to stop his lips cracking.
hiya,
No water at all Norm everybody knows what fish do in there and not only making love.
thanks harry long retired.
Harry just to put your mind at rest about water, it is only vampires that are affected by it and witches, as you must remember , the wicked witch of the west was accidently splashed with water when Dorothy ( Judy Garland ) was putting out the fire on poor old scarecrow, then the witch dissolved in a puff of green smoke. You as a ex- BRS driver can drink water and be safe as houses, you do not need to wash your mouth out with whisky to kill the germs every ten minutes, cut it down to once every 6 hours, and the bottle will last you longer!

hiya,
Norm iām always afraid the Scottish economy might go downhill if i cut down on the canny brew, in fact iām just about to pour my Old Lady a wee drop but she has to have lemonade with it, I prefer it straight from the bottle so iāll just have to top my glass up as well, well youāve got to be sociable.
thanks harry long retired.

Hello Dave, glad you are around again, need all the help I can, to keep Harry under control, if it is possible, but he he is not all bad, just a lovable rogue
, I am going to get my own back on Trevor H, and post the photo of Harry & Trev, I have got to get it out of the camera into my laptop then over to trucknet, but it will happen?
. I thought I was slow on gadgets, but Harry has a phone made out of two beer cans and a piece of string

hiya,
Believe me Old Normās not telling porkies, me and modern technology are as compatible as oil and water i would feel more at home working with steam, the funny thing is I couldānt care less just donāt want to improve never yearned for the next new motor quite happy with a hand me down, you donāt have to wash them, and my cellphone i think is previously owned by Noah but it does work but possibly two beer cans and a lengfh of string may be an improvement, donāt use it very often usually only get through a couple of quid a month.
thanks harry long retired.

Hi Harry,
I think you are being a bit modest about yourself again.A lot of your generation would not have a clue about computers for a start, something which you have mastered as good as any of us.
I quite agree with you about new lorries, far better to have a bigger wage packet than a new lorry.
Cheers Dave.
