Harry you do cheer me up, with how you are in such crappy condition, and I am only a year younger, can you not lie to me and say I have a lot to look forward too.

Back to the M/E just for a few seconds, went on a thread Tahir pass on Google map, the aerial view made me feel a little queer, I cannot believe I was so stupid to go over that mountain so many times, it has a new road now, but I am too old and more sense, so I will not volunteer to go anymore
.
hiya,
Norm is it as bad as Blubberhouses, when on for Ridings that stretch of road was banned and if caught using it you was sacked on the spot, but me not having a care in the world, and me being a proper driver always went that way it was a much shorter route to Teesside, i was over that way the other day in the jam jar can’t see what all the fuss was about.

I used Blubberhouses now and again Harry, from ICI Teesside to ICI Hillhouse near Fleetwood.A lot of drivers went to Wetherby and then on the A58 to Leeds and onto the M62 or A62 years before. They stuck a weight limit on the A58 through Collingham so you had to trail down the A1 to the A64 and across to Leeds.I quite enjoyed using the A59 being a Pennine lad mesen
Well you can always practice on your mountain on the I.O.M. Chris, I do not like them now, every time I forget and get caught on one, like in Ireland & horseshoe pass, I need a clean pair of underpants.
hiya,
Chris, Blubberhouses piece of cake, just pull your shoulders in, shut your eyes and aim the bloody thing, no problem to us pennine mountaineers.
thanks harry long retired.
Lads it is not the climbing the mountains that worry me, since I got over 60, it is the falling off
hiya,
Norman I once fell off a mountain, well a little hill really, but i was OK, i landed on my head.
thanks harry long retired.
After being a rough tough trucker, going where only the chosen few could go, you do not think I have gone soft Harry?
hiya,
Been to where only the chosen few go indeed, Norm I’ll have you know i’ve been to Mablethorpe but it was closed and i noticed when there that they have an unusual way of disposing of their dead they stand them up in bus shelters.
thanks harry long retired.
I have been by it, but never stopped the night there, so I must make a effort to go to Mablethorpe, it must be one of the few coastal resorts I cannot give my view on,
for some reason it never attracted me there.

Nowt wrong with Mablethorpe, big sandy beach, ideal for kids to splash about,no lager louts except maybe one or two from Nottingham - the ones that used to go there by train on t’club trip in t’50s and 60s
Higher profile place is just down the road at Sutton-on sea, more celubrious people down there, they wipe their feet going in t’house, not like Skeggy where they wipe their feet coming out.Anderby Creek,Ingoldmells,Gibraltar Point,Theddlethorpe,Saltfleet are all nice little places (as I take the handout from Lincolnshire Tourist Board).
Oh,and Swifts Transport originated in Skegness,so there
Had a couple of holidays at Chapel St Leonards about twenty years ago, once had a week at Skegness,as you say not the finest,a bit like a mini Blackpool on the East Coast,Bingo and Chip oil’s every few yards. Saw Bobby Davro at the Maid Marion club at Chapel,di stop by Mablethorpe once seemed ok,but anywhere’s nice on a nice day, haven’t had many of those the last three summers.
Cheers Dave.

What a pity Chris, could have been interesting, hearing about your mispent youth.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
And here’s me thinking that being good at snooker was the only indication of a mispent youth, tell you what you guys are sure furthering my education, and Chris it’s only fair you complete the “story” leaving us all in suspenders is’nt the done thing.
