hello all,
seeing as winseer keeps banging on about firms the don’t pay for your time that’s spent on POA, but then it seems he doesn’t know of any 
does anyone out there know of any firms that don’t pay POA.
now there’s every chance there’ll be a handful in the country, but i don’t believe it’s a widespread issue like he likes to make out, but you never know!
Well any company that’s salaried won’t pay poa will they.
Read a thread recently about a Driver who doesn`t even get paid for other work.
Not heard of any myself though.

if you’re salaried then you’re paid to work up to your maximums unless otherwise stated

Well I thought those including myself who are salaried for average 48 hrs don’t get paid poa if they average 48 hrs work a week but on top average 10 hrs a week poa. Understand or am I spouting garbage.

If contract states your salary is 48 hours and you`re doing 58 you should be accruing days off or getting paid o/t.
Did agency work for a company that stood drivers down when they went over 48, they would get several weeks off a year to cover this, I asked if they did 8 hours a week more do they get 12 off as its o/t, the answer was no of course. No poa on this job.
I know a driver where I used to work and he did an o/t shift and they paid him 5 hours because he only did 45 of his guaranteed 48 in his 5 shifts, they soon sorted that though because other Drivers supported him.
Other places the Drivers are paid the o/t.
I would check to see if other Drivers are getting paid for this, even so I would be demanding payment.

Co-op don’t recognise POA so you don’t get paid for it.

Many firms FORCE THEIR DRIVERS to use it illegally, some don’t recognise it and vosa are clamping down on it! It doesn’t take the brains of an archbishop to work out, after reading posts on here does it? StobRat threaten drivers they’ll be sent home with no pay, blah, blah, blah! but the planners run you stupid hours in fact I’ve known drivers to be sacked FOR NOT USING POA at Appleton naming and shaming Kevin Simpson and simon Morgan it’s a farce, even the planners are upto their necks in it BUT guess who takes the fall! One thing they forget though, when they falsify drivers times on isotrack and gts, it leaves a footprint at the IT department! plus drivers sign in and out at the gatehouse, these times can’t be falsified on tacho heads and drivers daily runsheets and once the download their cards! Tut tut tut! They’ll get caught out very soon!

I don’t think you’re spouting garbage bald bloke.
You must know by now that I’m not trying to be aggressive but don’t you think it’s a rum do if you are salaried for 48 hours but are actually on duty for 58?

Even the most ‘perfect’ job in haulage might suffer the odd delay now and again.

Nope, we don’t use POA at all and the company wouldn’t recognise it if we did.
Long day due to delay?, probably get a 7 hour shift the next day or the one after…they don’t want 80 hour a week zombies at the wheel, which suits me.

bald bloke has delays and gets neither time off or paid for it though, if he does 58 he is still payed 48 and still does 58 again the next week, must be against some kind of employment law surely.
