Has anyone ever suffered with it , I’m getting worse , spend all my time looking in mirrors thinking has it moved , pulling in checking straps all the time , I thought I’d get used to it in time , but getting more paranoid by the day , don’t fill comfortable at all, frightens me really , keep thinking if that slab of concrete falls off that frame it will kill someone .
I guess you can only try something different to know , but feel much more relaxed with something enclosed in box , taut , coke , w powder etc behind me .
Quit driving lorries, you’re clearly not cut out for it. Seriously dozy I think its time for you to find something else completely different to do for a living that doesn’t involve driving lorries. You seem to have a problem with just about every single part of the job.
Stop before you have a mental breakdown mate
LOL you so gota love him he would make any sort of driver look good i so pity his employer but then he employed him so no LOL.
It’s better to want to keep checking the load is safe than to keep going in the hope that it’s safe, but if it’s got to the point where you’re worrying about it see if you can go back on the box trailers.
chains, chains and more chains.

He’s clearly transport manager material!

I reckon if Only Fools And Horses was still on the go, Dozy would make an excellent replacement for Trigger. He just comes across as that sort of person to me.[emoji3]

+1
McDonald’s are always setting on and you’ll probably get a pay rise too.
Dozy, someone of your calibre needs a job with no responsibility. Just make sure you pull those fries out when the beeper sounds. Easy. You’ll be fine.
Dozy mate, if it stresses you out, then don’t do it!
Now I’m no shrink, but I’m guessing that there are lots and lots of stresses going on in your life. And all these stresses combined are simply wearing you out mate. You’re probably mentally and physically exhausted…
So you need to change something!!!
Maybe it’s your job, maybe it’s your thinking, or maybe it’s your medication. But SOMETHING needs to change, as I suspect you’re probably making yourself worse by worrying about everything.
Go on tippers… the load don’t generally move till you elevate the body…
You’ll need some decent rigger books though, for all the crud you have to wade through and a heavier right foot…

Don’t encourage him ffs.
At this time of year the load doesn’t always move even when you elevate the body.
Get yourself on box vans or fridges. Solid sides, load bars and roller doors.

I do believe I mentioned a heavier right foot… combined with a rapid clutch action he’ll be good to go with stuck loads.
Only downside at this time of year is digging it out the mire and losing traction offroad. Sure he’ll soon adapt though.
It sounds like you’re suffering from severe anxiety (medical definition) which causes the complete paranoia about driving. Do you get the paranoia about just the driving bit rather than specifically the load coming off? Also do you get that when you’re driving something smaller like a car?
I would say go to your GP and make sure they understand this isn’t just general worry, but specific very uncontrolled paranoia that is seriously affecting your job. The only cravat there is they might want to send you to a psychiatrist who’ll put you on anxiety meds, some of which are very good…but due to their potency it can take a few attempts to find the right one which isn’t going to muckup your reaction times.
Can tell you, the anxiety / paranoia thing isn’t just you but the much more experienced folks above I think have the right idea about trying to switch to at least reduce the triggers which can be pretty much as effective as meds in my experience.
LIBERTY_GUY:

Because his ability to adapt has been exceptional thus far.
Yes, I’d like to go large on that, Dozy. Hold the ketchup on that quarter pounder though.

Don’t tell him that, he’ll have the bugger over. Or blowing the seals in the ram. Or burning the clutch out. Or hitting overhead cables. Christ our reputation is in tatters already, don’t make it worse.

I’d say (with very limited knowledge of the Patient! ) that CBT may be more effective than meds. As meds will help COPE with an issue, where removing the root cause of the issue can be achieved with changing perceptions. For a start, coming on here and being teased/slated/abused by other members isn’t going to be good for your mental attitude or confidence dozy mate. So it’s quite feasible that you have low self esteem, which in itself is a depressant. Meds may relieve or block this issues, but I think dozy has perception issues that put him under enormous pressure, and as such, he makes mistakes as he’s constantly rushing…
The way dozy speaks and phrases things infers that he is dictated to, and he responds with a completely subservient persona/attitude/reaction to it.
Which translated into layman’s is: He’s ■■■■■ whipped!!!
P.S. I’m analyzing all you 'ers!!!

He’s not ■■■■■ whipped. He’s just a [zb]ing ■■■■■.
