Yet you will dutifully Trek back in there Monday to repeat the whole sorry process again, and the Monday after, and the Monday after… ad infinitum.
I sympathise with you doze.
I’m off this week, we were just setting off for a couple of days away on a break, and my pay slip was e.mailed to me.
The Mrs came in the room to see what all the noise was about (me screaming down the phone at my boss as mad as ■■■■)
The shower of ■■■■ that I work for had only paid me a basic wage…why? Because I had not downloaded my card, just a genuine oversight on my part as I have downloaded it every other week.
A courtesy call to me (as a long term driver) telling me prior to their intention so I could sort it would have been a better course of action I feel.
Then they wonder why I hate the ■■■■ s and why the firm is a ‘Them & Us’’ firm rather than a ’ Team Firm’.
It had no real effect on me financially, and was not a problem in real terms, but it could have been as far as those bastds knew.
I don’t understand why you drive all the way to crick from Grantham to work for green death? there got to be better firms near you. Go to Kettering/Corby there is far better work there. If you want nights out advance transport in corby, good rates & work. Route logistics again at Corby easy work good pay.
you moan no stop about Stobarts but you wont work anywhere else. Get some backbone man and go and try something different
anyone else in here not too shy to admit they work for stobarts and confirm if they saw wages this week or not ?
Dozy, if you have savings of £6000 or more, the DWP will not help you, there is an application for what is called hardship , where they look at the information and decide on that outcome .
If you are thinking of Universal Credit , to apply for job seekers allowance, that is about £67 per week , for your housing paid , if you are renting
then expect a very long wait for the first payment of JSA and the rent paid , this could take a few weeks to a month or more .
If your partner has savings and is receiving any income , you have to inform the DWP .
Failure to give them all the correct information can lead to fraud charges with a fine, pay back what you owed, or possibly prison .
To start a claim, you ring a free phone number, for a 20 minute interview on the phone, then a date and time is arranged to attend the job centre , they set up an online account to start the claim process .This is done with a member of staff , sat by you on their computer .
You then have to carry out 35 hours of job searching per week , you enter the proof on an online journal , so online searches and maybe walking or driving to prospective employers in your area .
not good if true, I know you’re a wind up merchant dozy

No, but the agency I work for pulled all their drivers out of Stobart around three weeks ago, they did exactly the same thing at Canute two years ago a few weeks before they went ■■■■-up.

He doesn’t work for Stobbies though does he? He walked away from that gig and instead signed up for Stobbies pseudo agency. If the rumours are anywhere near true I’d imagine that Stobbies will pay their full time employees as a matter of course until the death knell. However, they’ll take the gamble with agency that perhaps 20% of the drivers will walk after not getting paid, leaving the gullible 80% to still carry on working for free thus giving the Co a few more weeks breathing space.
Of course the original post could easily be bollox posted straight from the mind of some Walter Mitty character.
He’ll have to dip into the Benidorm fund to buy his steaks

Dopys like a stick of Blackpool rock, if you cut him in half he’d have Stobarts written thru the middle of him.
However unlikely the scenario of Stobarts running into financial problems and their in-house agency doesn’t pay Dopy, I’d be on the phone directly to the payroll department chasing money as soon as the the office opens on Monday morning. IF by lunchtime the payroll issue isn’t sorted I’d be turning the truck around and heading back to the yard and unloading my gear out of the truck and head home and cut my losses

well you obviously can be certain that like every other post the original post is just complete fantasy bollox due to the other days post about stobarts going ■■■■ up to put the idea into his head, but its a quiet relaxing saturday and surely theres a stobbby driver somewhere thats not running in to let us know how the financial disaster of a week without pay is suiting them?
if you are comfortable working for the likes of stobart, then theres 100 job opperchancities agency wise waiting for you on monday morning,
Dont Stobbies get paid fortnightly? If so maybe it’s not their pay week?
Doesn’t help Dozy but might explain not getting an answer from a full.timer about getting paid?
As an employee, if a company goes bust, the Gov may well stump up what you are owed: wages, bonuses, redundancy.
gov.uk/your-rights-if-your- … -insolvent
If you are employed by an agency, your claim is against them, not the company whose truck you are driving.
If you are self employed, you take your place in the queue with the other companies chasing monies.
But being no expert, I`ll be corrected on any of that.
Not getting paid is not funny. It happened to me in 1990. The bank pulled the plug on the firm’s overdraft and we went for about 6 weeks on handouts and bits of cash here and there.
The boss tried to do the decent thing but in the end had to admit defeat. An administrator was appointed, claim for back pay was lodged and it took till December for the money to come through. Not sure how the money was funded but I got all that was owed including holiday pay.
I managed to get a job at another firm just as the axe fell so wasn’t out of work, just out of pocket.
Sounds like the bank has finally called time, cash flow problems suppliers not being paid staff not being paid all the signs of a company in trouble, if indeed this is true.
I would be in on Monday and the first thing I would be doing would be to see what could be removed from the place to compensate for my losses, diesel ,tyres and so on.
If they are seriously in hock to others believe me you will be lucky to see 10% of what you are owed and you won’t see that until the companies assets have been sold off and the proceeds shared out.
I would think one of the other cut throat outfits will take over, DownHillLogistics Wincanton the usual shower will be on hand to take over the contracts.
No great loss.

Employed drivers will be paid in full including holiday and redundancy pay by central Government.
TBH All of this sounds farcical… normal business with continue on Monday,
After several frantic phone calls on Monday, Dopey will find out that the person who normally does the payroll for the agency is on holiday (Benidorm?) and whoever did the payroll last week accidentally missed off a whole page of names and the error will be fixed Monday morning … crisis averted
