Thank you erf guy for the picture of the handsome dennison one of two with that cab on that big Sam Bartlett ran iirc, one with a 240 Gardner possibly and driven by a scotch driver Jimmy mc Comb maybe , the other with a 265 rolls Royce engine driven by Bobby Herbenson from ballymena ,
Sam had another dennison I think with a plastic cab like a Dennis dust bin lorry iirc , but this didn’t last long as it had an accident around the barrlae area between glenluce and Newtown Stewart .
A question for Mcwilliam,i just noticed that youre from Moffat ,did ya ever take any photos o keith towers (CVL) motors from Moffat.
We spent most o our week( especialy my time in the 80s) running about on multidrop work in mostly the north at least 4 days a week…
I was on the white LHD drawbar,Bob from Moffat on the red/black drawbar both Maggies.,willie on the Daf top sleeper drag,simon on the foden wi the stepframe van.

There used to be a removal firm from Northern ireland called Doreen I think, they had a yard in leeds just off dewsbury road. This was back in the mid 70’s, they were mainly scania’s does anyone. Remember them?

McFerrans went out of haulage in the early ninetys.
Didn`t think they would have lasted that long.

but they still carried on with their crane hire buisness.
i am new to the forum and intrested in any old dukes transport drivers as i worked for them in their warehouse they had on stakehill ind est from 1989 til 1991 and my dad worked their as a driver,i had just left school and a got the job,a loved every minute of it,i now work for woodsides doin the cairnryan trunk now and then and the local ports
i worked in the warehouse with a stranraer lad ,called pepe,ie derek paterson,a cracking lad, them were the days
