can anybody remember Williams bros wales atkinson 8 wheelers on cattle work some pulled drawbar trailers . begood to see some pictures and of their bedfords as well thankyou Trevor

morn, trevor , morn all. rember williams wales cattle boxes well, i rem 8 and i sure 6 wheeler atkinson in cattle markets. a bloke called GLYN always in charge in markets. they were big in livestock in there day , and then L eJONES TOOK OVER, AND I AM CERTAIN glyn went to them.later years they seemed to go to artics 3 or 4 deckers. i willtry to get some photoes , cheers charlie.

Hi charlie, i have seen photos of Williams Bros Atkinson 8 wheelers . I can also remember them having Bedford KM 6 Wheeelers on stock work as well .
By the way charlie would see them in the Northampton area , as well as your company M J Parry on occasions was that to Baxters ? regards keith

hi keith, hope your ok,yes williams bros allways northamton area baxters were big down there, we used tobe there all time either going to market ie del irish cattle or or canvins. you did not see many 6 wheel bedfords on livestock challis and padburys northampton had 4 wheelers. williams bros were allways coming of anglesey on livestock and i used to see them pwhelli market. st asphap was another market williams did most of the hauling out. on wednesdays they would come to oswestry and load for north devon meat s torrington cheers charlie

It would be good to see some Williams bros photos . I can remember Canvins at Bedford would see Crowthers Craven Arms there . Also your old company tipping sheet steel at Vauxhalls on the odd occasion .
Mention of Baxters did you ever go to there Gloucester site now long gone . .Also charlie would be good to see some of your AEC 8 leggers on the thread many thanks keith

HI Chepstowchap, A great picture iirc this Foden belong to Hayes & Sprake ,off Bagillt ,when they packed in Alf Parry bought it ,i think Ken squeek drove it ,just a bit of usless info ,cheers Barry

That photo was taken near Abergavenny , the driver was returning from Ebbw Vale where he had delivered a couple of coils from Shotton of course .
It may have been the last year of steel production at Ebbw Vale . cc

Hi Barry, yeh, think your right (again!) squeeker drove it, do you remember the Sed Atki 400 sleeper they bought from a “■■■■■■ back■■?”, seem to recall it was a fast motor, had a coach diff or something■■?

J Jones had atkinsons and an volvof86 8 tipper think they were red . there was I O Williams penygroes with atkinson and foden tippers Trevor
