The tank was orignally set up to be detachable and started life on the back of his previous lorry a LAD cabed Albion Reiver, think the reg was 4001 UN…
He used to have a set of pully blocks and stands to remove the tank it in a yard just outside Monsanto in Ruabon…This picture was taken by Monsanto to show the use of Haz Chem labels.

Hi Trevor…
Here’s a picture of Henry’s AEC 760…Looks well with the tank on the back…Said if he could put a chain on it, it would pull the sugar loaf back to Wrexham!..
Went on the timber when we had finished with it…don’t know if it’s still about?..
Think it spent some time in the Lazy Trout carpark aswell while Henry talked to Skip!..

Hello Steelboy, no i did not snap the SeddAtk following . And i do not know who it belonged to either.
re: S E Jones this Borderer at this time would have been driven by Charlie Owen from Gobowen it had a Gardner 8lxb 240 ,fuller box and eaton back axle . Jones may have ran middle east but they definitely ran to Turkey where a Borderer similar to this one was burnt out ,the remains were put in the trailer and brought home where engine ,box and other parts were salvaged ,the box van it was pulling still had the scorch marks on the front in the 80.s . The box van pictured had a belly fuel tank up inside the chassis rails, other trailers { tilts} had them fitted either side of the chassis. Jones ran Atkinsons Guys Fodens and Sed Atkis all with Gardner engines also two M A N 232,s European destinations were mainly Germany ,France ,Switzerland and Italy . They also had two of the last Guy big J,s off the production line KMA 338 and 339T run 24hrs out of ICI Northwich.
