BRAD4:
Hey…spent many happy hour in the cab of that Commer…AUN274L and it’s predecessor NUN355G and JED???F Can’t believe seeing AUN again!..I must have missed the trip to pick the Boat Up!..
As you said it usually had a Crumps cattle box on the back, if the box was off it was loaded with Wrexham Larger or Millns seeds!..Sounded great at full tilt…Eddy Tricket at he wheel! My Dad, Henry Bradford was the owner driver…the end of Eslless Lane. Lynwood 2 Wrexham Road…Started his driving life with Langleys just outside Church Stretton…
His last lorry, a C series ERF (265 Rolls) 8x4 9PAX345Y) went into Kronopan complete with it’s stainless steel tank…his AEC 760 8x4 (VXC74N) that went on he timber after we had finished with it…would be great if it was still about!.■■ the one before that a Albion Reiver 6x4 (OUN51G) went to Heywards in Ruabon!..
He carried for Monsanto for years…MBT, Castic Soda, Sulphuric Acid etc…he went everywhere at 48mph!..
Have a selection of photos…will post them soon…Edward Derbyshire, Wixhall was another tanker company pulling out of Monsanto…
Regards
hello brad will look forward to seeing your photos your father kept his AEC immaculate thank you trevor

Remember a few post ago I asked about the Big J parked on Birch and wondered if anybody knew who owned it>
Well with the use of a jewellers eye glass on my original photo we got the registration number. it was UCX 880, the last letter looked like “R” but the Guy looks much older than our R reg Buffalo next to it so it could be “K”.
The name on the door looks very much like S.E Jones. Maybe somebody will recognize the reg number.
Russell.

Hi Russell,CX is a Huddersfield reg and UCX 880K is a 1972 reg.
I always thought the S E Jones name was written straight across the doors and not curved.Have a think around the Cleckuddersfax area for a similar tanker firm that ran Big Js.
hiya,
Chris, Cleckuddersfax never heard that before but have heard of the Cleckheaton, Heckmondwyke
and Liversedge area being termed as Cleckheckmondsedge and that I believe is how the natives do
also refer to the area.
thanks harry, long retired.
dose anyone have any pics ov clwyd transport

The last i heard Dave that Aber Carriers were taken over by D N Morgan Craven Arms was that correct ? regards keith
Cooper carriers of Prestatyn were at one time owned by NFC (brs) did they get sold off when Lynx folded?
About 81 Aber carriers of Welshpool took on a big Unipart contract with BL at Cowley and in about a month or two fell flat on their face with it, too big a leap it seemed.
