I assume MWAY and EVANS are exempt from this law??
Meanwhile everyone else with the boss in the cab style isotrak has to adhere to it, so patience please
It’s a bloody long way at 40. I don’t work for Evans or mway but use it a lot and it is frustrating.
Yes i agree, was just asking for a bit of patience for those of us who have to stick it.
That road is wide enough to be safe to do 50
Agreed !
alledgedly, M Way are exempt from most rules or queues
tossers
use the bloody road every week nearly, was told by a copper that they won’t stop anyone under 50 but go above it at your peril, one of the drivers at a previous company got clocked at 56 on one of the long down hill sections, now this was 10 plus years ago and got done 6 points and £300,
the only thing that does get my goat is if one of the 40 boys won’t back off just a little when you try to overtake on one of the hill sections but thats just a gripe on my part
I think now they have got different thresholds as to how they deal with you, normally i think its 10% + 2mph and they wont bother doing anything
There is a VOSA weigh bridge and check point at the end of that road where it joins the M5, heading east bound, but they pull you on both sides.

There’s lots of laybys too
They should have made it a dual carriageway when they built it though !

Totally agree denis. Bloody road is dangerous ! Drivers get frustrated behind lorries doing 40mph ( correctly ) and attempt stupid overtaking manoeuvres which lead to some of the dreadful accidents the road has seen.

that is down to those who are speeding, not the one driving correctly

Not strictly true. The ones doing the crazy overtakes tend to be cars subject to a 33% higher speed limit.

so, because a car’s speed limit is higher on a certain road, than a trucks speed limit on the same road, if the aforementioned car driver decides to do a stupid overtaking manouver, why and how is that the fault of the driver that is abiding by the law?

Err yes. That’s what I put in brackets.
Just watch out for the crazy north devon bus drivers who have been let loose with a coach, trying to speed up there at 62. Keep your mirrors in, there’s some bad drivers from up there.
