Caffrey has been advertising for a while and I think their pay is about average do all over Europe, as for Noone don’t know of any Irish or UK working there, they do a lot of hazardous so ADR might be a requirement
Thanks for the info Mazzer2, I appreciate it.
all the big paddy mobs similar to dixon, nolan, virginia would tend to be much of a muchness.
switchlogic is your man to ask about them.
good decent plant, and similar wages at the end of the day.
remember if your uk registered you will need to take the euro/gbp exchange rate into consideration.

I think Caffrey will pay you in sterling into a UK bank.

At an agreed rate so you agree your terms in sterling and that amount goes in the bank regardless of the exchange rate, it is how I am paid, boss just uses the UK business account to pay me that way no one loses out.

Ah, that`s clear then. The driver gets to keep a steady rate.

good job if your intending to work there long term then.
saves the constant disappointment when you realise sterling is going to take another beating.
im fortunate to have accounts on both side of the border so its easier to draw from either side when suitable.
roll on brexit then we will see whats what…
All decent companies mentioned. Won’t make you rich but pay going rate and you know it’ll be there week in week out without fail, the trucks decent and looked after and you won’t be pushed beyond any limits with the bigger companies that Dieseldog mentions. Nor will you be flying down the motorway at 70 despite the outdated stereotype, more likely to be stuck at 85kmh. If you want European work and want it regularly these are other the places to look. Good luck
Caffrey also transport pharmaceutical’s to Turkey , it is common to go there with one pallet and the firm get paid top dollar .
Expect your 24 or 45 hours weekly rest off Crewe truck stop along with Dixons doing continuous trailer swaps all night .
The European driving bug will soon diminish when your weekend off is in a French motorway service station full of Eastern European trucks running their engines all day and night to power their batteries after watching Moldavian or Bulgarian X Factor on their satellite tv , when you are trying to sleep before driving all night to make the 6am ferry .
If your plan is to chase money and make money , you will be hugely disappointed as you won’t be making any money on European work , any roadside fines are paid by the driver .
working for the above mobs despite tobys gloom and doom predictions ( possibly he may have been reading too much grandpa jakethesnake pish and has absorbed a tad too much) ,then you will make a decent wage with the bonus of a decent truck, better working conditions across the water than the uk and so long as you use common sense parking up for the night or weekend, then you will have a much more relaxed time of it than the crap workplace that is the remains of england.
bringing back your plonk and tabs can easily throw you £500 a trip without it turning into a murder inquiry if stopped.
ive parked up at rest areas in france and further and ive never really had any serious disturbance from the taliban charging batteries though running with a fridge dont really make me overly sensitive to truck related noise.
theres masses of industrial estates everywhere without the anti truck parking attitude and much more choice for food and flesh to while away the time.
the ones mentioned above have been running since it was horses and carts and well versed in running things properly assuming you appreciate its road haulage so its a ever moving goalposts disaster of a job anyway.
A big thank you to all that have replied, I appreciate it. Irish work is the way I want to go so I will give the above mentioned a call. Thanks once again.
dont forget the usual suspects in the north like morgans, sawyers and such though mostly its cross channel uk and back.
surefreight in newry would be similar. 2 weeks out mostly for that kinda work.
staying away from the tang spec subbys might be an idea for a while in the light of the imports being under a bit more scrutiny this weather but you get paid in gbp which may help?.
as soon as you get started with anyone, then its much easier to jump ship and work elsewhere,
Irish companies wages are worse than uk companies
Just out of curiosity what sort of money can you make on European work?

^^^^^^^^^^^
they are quite often worse when knocking about the doors, but not really worse doing distance and cross channel depending on how your paid.
heres every possible driver related jobs available in northern ireland today.
dhl looks good on paper and the rest are utter pish.
same as everywhere else, the better jobs have no need to be looking.

If you say so take it you have evidence to back up this sweeping statement
