When I and my father worked there new trucks used to appear in the yard every week. Often in different colours when companies cancelled orders last minute and what not. Always thought it’s been a strange turnaround from being the biggest new truck customer in Ireland to not being a new truck customer at all
Nolans good old jimmy nolan, they have a uk O licence awhile now have a yard in wales. you’ll see nolan trucks with N.I and Britsh regs these days. I always found it quite odd that they haven’t purchased any new plant in years but of late I’ve seen some brand new Krone euroliners and some 2016 reg DAF XF 105 410 space cabs other than that everything is 06/07 white DAF’s with a sprinkling of ex UK 6x2 DAF’s I wonder will the Raymond name be vanished from the roads and all the fleet will be MOVIN-ON

I don’t do Euro work, so I don’t keep up with the regs, but I do believe that when Belgium or whoever it was, made the rule about having a weekly rest away from the motor, Nolans just issued every driver with a 2 man tent and told them to put it up somewhere near the motor.
Just something I heard, and not in an RDC waiting room.

That’s balls.
Correct - I doubt Nolan would pay for a tent .
The guy that told me did make a point of saying they were Aldi tents though. Perhaps a bitter ex employee, as he was from their side of the water.

Can be the only option if you’re growing fast and can’t wait for factory order lead times.
The ones pulling fridges out of Cherbourg may be knackered, but they do wind up to considerably over 90km. They may not go up hill fast but make up for it on the level !
