No sleep

Not sure you are allowed to park it has overnight weight restrictions on that road so if u haven’t been to Range or BMW you’re not supposed to be there. I have gone past a couple of times on my way to Range and seen a load of coppers writing tickets out

Typical of today’s modern policing, ticketing the actual “working” class, whilst the Chav class runs riot elsewhere in the neighbourhood

Typical of someone who doesn’t know how policing works. they are the road policing unit they have a different scope to say CID or robbery squad etc.

They are paid to get illegally parked vehicles, They are also when issuing tickets finding other crimes, how many times have you heard of a guy being pulled by traffic or police for no seat belt but wanted in relation to other serious crimes.

simple park legally and you have no issues.

So if the plod where to.come down and slap a ticket on my screen then thats my problem!! But it still dosnt warrant blowing the horn at stupid times of day and night

Plus isnt blowing horn after 11 amd before 7 against the law as its really close to houses…■■ Just saying

Paddock Lane and Mt Pleasant Road have a 7.5t weight limit from 7pm to 7am, should not be there.

Is that what we should do then if we see someone sleeping where they shouldn’t be blast your horn to wake them,oh and then drive off

If you are a truck driver no.
If you are a car driver maybe, depending on if you are also a ■■■■
If you are a ■■■■ that has a HGV licence and thinks he’s a truck driver…apparently yes.

Basically what they are blowing their horns for is the fact that you have made them sit for 30 seconds whilst they let someone in or out.

or being a ■■■■ as I would call it.

It has [zb] all to do with him. If he is been held up for all of a minute :unamused: behind parked up trucks ( that more than likely could not find a suitable alternative ■■■■■■■■■■■■ anyway)

There’s plenty of room on the industrial estate, Capitol Park, 300 yards away off the next exit at the roundabout. Other than the APC depot nothing is open there on a night, there is a pub that serves food at its entrance and a burger van that opens in the morning so the clever ones park on there, get a good nights kip as well as a beer and a hot meal. The dumbasses park where the OP did in the weight limit…

Wow, doesn’t it ever get annoying being so perfect?

Not really familiar with that location, but I reckon if I parked there I’d be in the pub that you mention.
However dumbasses or not, I still think the guy with the horn switch hanging out of his arse is a ■■■■.

So no offence if driver parks up before 7pm and doesn’t move until after 7am…

Yes the offence is being there. whether moving, stationary or scratching your asre :unamused:

And copper wont waken you to move you on :unamused:

But that doesn’t excuse the horn blowers, they are just jumped up little [zb] wits :smiling_imp:

I started a thread a couple of months ago about a similar arse hole in a truck at Walton Summit ind est Bamber Bridge, going past lads with their curtains drawn blasting his horn :unamused:
Pricks of the highest order :imp:

Hello Nobroy, I was one of the people to comment on your inconsiderate parking at Bamber Bridge when you where hurling abuse at a driver and calling him a ■■■■ on this forum.
It is one thing having someone tooting a horn at people for fun but when you block the road parking in a dangerous place (I believe you may of even been on double yellows) making traffic back up along the road taking turns to run the gauntlet past a long row of trucks that is something else.
I see you are still an abusive idiot and dont think you are in a position to comment on parking.

I normally ignore complete dicks but in this case I’ll make an exception.
Not only are you an obnoxious idiot but a presumptious one as well.
Firstly I was parked safely and considerately at the top end which is in fact a dead end, no double yellows and under a light.
That’s about as far as I am going to lower myself answering to an imbecile.
As for being in a position to comment…my decision not yours.
Bye bye and keep following my posts.

Since when has driving past a line of parked trucks been ‘running the gauntlet?’ FFS :unamused: no wonder we get so many issues on the roads nowadays. this has been going on for years on industrial estates and seems to be a modern thing. its a shame people now think having to drive past a few hundred yards of trucks is a life threatening challenge. :open_mouth:

Hi, all. This is my first post. And I’m not a truck driver yet. I’m only on this forum because I want to get a heads up head start to what it’s like as a professional goods driver. I have the utmost respect for professional haulage because without it this country would be in a real mess.

So I’m reading posts and I’m staggered to read a post that directly affects me and people I know. Without intending to offend, impugn or point digits anywhere can I say the following:

20 years ago Mount Pleasant Road was a leafy greenfield area. Not dissimilar to the Amazon Jungle. Then the loggers came and everything changed. Some left the area with a cash incentive, some stayed. While ultimately, resistance is futile and assimilation will be assured until any of the locals die (I can assure they aren’t going to leave) you are always going to get pockets of resistance to you own personal needs (and by that I mean somewhere to park, eat and easy access back onto the M18).

The issues of HGV’s on that road are thus:

reduction of road width due to parked vehicles
proximity of running fridge unit’s to residential dwellings
unauthorised burger van parked on the road, litter and the concentration of vehicles around it
a general increase in traffic as the ‘industrial estate’ expands

What this is doing is stirring up a certain level of animosity with the natives. Trust me it’s not as bad as it was but the pressure being applied to the ‘powers that be’ is constant and sooner or later things are going to get worse for truckers as these powers get fed up with being asked ‘to do something about it’ and do something about it.

Can I suggest this; park overnight running gennies/fridges further up by BMW, Don’t use that burger van AT ALL. There is one as you go into Thorne down the industrial estate just before Smalleys. Their sausages are crap but the roads plenty wide enough for access. Better still, park up and walk down to the Delves Cafe (just beyond the rail bridge) and get an all day brekky for £3.20. It’s edible but the best value meal for miles around. The coffee’s dreadful.

Also, did you know there’s a gippo camp directly opposite the burger van on Mount Pleasant road? My mate’s been turned over twice this year alone.

Anyway, it seems to me that haulage bosses don’t think you getting a comfy nights sleep in an air-conditioned room part of their expenses cover so unless they put double yellows down trucks will always be there. I hope they don’t put any lines down because one day I might need to park there myself.
