you lot dont know you were born!!
when i first started out i had to squeeze myself between the propshaft and chassis using a glove for a pillow and rats for company!did you cover yourself in axle grease to help keep you warm.
my first night out was in a truck with no night heater or bunk. so i improvised and used the cigarette lighter for a bit of heat. i got no sleep whatsoever but atleast i was warm
Hey I had to sleep on the ground, under the truck engine -when I wanted to get up OILY in the morning

The maosochist in me says (job for life)
3 weeks on me travels again.
i will miss the hat .
At 6’6" I dont think ive ever been able to stand up straight in ANY truck !!!.
The bunks should be made longer as well its ok for all you little people but I cant stretch out in a truck !!.
I did a while on Dimplex, delivering their rad’s etc when they had a warehouse at Croydon. I’d copped me night out money, I think it was a pound or 1.50, and decided to kip in the back on a radiator. A bloke from Connahs Quay asked if he could jump in as well. I’d had a dose of hiccups for a ■■■■■■■ fortnight, and Dimplex radiators are NOT comfy to sleep on, so consequently, in the morning we agreed it was the worst night either of us had ever had. The joys of being young and stupid.
Kipping on the engine cover of an ergo’s not so bad when you’re young. Feet against the screen, noggin against back of cab and don’t roll about too much.

What has sleeping across seats got to do with having a ‘proper driving job’ ■■?
In my opinion if your away from home & your family overnight/all week and your putting up with sleeping across seats, you’re not a ‘proper driver’ you’re a mug !
We’re not in the 60’s anymore ladies and gents
Back to my original question, my mate wasn’t whinging he was enquiring…asking…the sort of thing forums like this are meant to be for

It was answered at the start dude, suitable sleeping facilities and thats all the rules say. I reckon the banter and old stories are great, better than just quoting legislation!

you must be a little on the younger side, thats what proper drivers had to do in the past before sleeper cabs came in.

I used to be out all week in this Volvo FL once upon a time. It seemed OK at the time but perhaps that was just because i knew no better, Lol.
could have been worse, you could have been on the dirty tipping job for mr hymas.
at least the containers across the water job is clean and there is enough room to kip in the little volvo.
