Newbie Tipper Advise

Fed up with pallet work on Class C so i have looked around.
Ive been offered a tipper tramper job paying £500 a week plus £100 for nights out. After 6 months goes upto £575 a week plus £100
Is this good or just an average wage.
Plus side company pays £575 x 52 weeks so no need to accumulate holiday.

So 600 topline??

Yes for 6 months then goes up to 675

Take it. Sounds ok to me

Hmmmm :open_mouth:

Who’s it for, you might get a heads up. Tipper tramping firms tend to be better. I day tend to be, some of the Clwyd subbies are nutters but G.Webbs seem very steady.

Is that take home ?

No before tax

In comparison LTD agency Class C drivers on my present pallet work are pulling £740 a week for 60 hours

In that case it’s very, very close to what London Tipper firms pay for max. hours, hard running, day work. (home every day, 6 - 7am starts, and 4 - 7pm finishes + every other Saturday)

But considering it’s probably further away from London and longer runs I would say adequate for that kind of work.
Not great, but not too bad either…

On what terms do they offer this “company pays 575x52” ? They offer you to drive as PAYE or as SE or as Ltd ?

Are they “blue with dark faded red” colored?

No weekend work Midlands based. A lot of work is based around the country. Company has 30 motors including artics. Colours blue and red and PAYE

Ok, got the idea… - I’m no expert, but I would say decent-adequate and probably swapped that for my one if offered.

So 5 days at £100 basic… You do a 15 and your basically on £6.66 (correct me if I’m wrong) can stick day rates right up your ■■■!!

It’s tipper work - you moron… they ain’t doing 15h… :stuck_out_tongue:
Max 13h, average 10h :stuck_out_tongue: or less :stuck_out_tongue:

But if your tramping its normally hourly pay so you max your hours as you know your not going home.

So tippers/tramping… You never do a 15■■ Give your head a bang you daft khunt

I don’t do tramping, but I’ ve never met a tipper driver doing 15h shifts… sorry if I’m badly wrong - maybe I should have said 90% don’t do…, maybe some member of this forum will volunteer to come out on here and confirm that he is tipper driver and does 15h shifts to confirm your statement…?

I think even most artic tipper drivers don’t do that… (split rest etc doesn’t count :stuck_out_tongue: )

Although tramping in small tipper cab in laybys is not the best job either…

Do you actually do bulk work??

I do tipper work (in company that also do Class 2 tramping in those, but not me), that’s about all you should know about me… although even that might be too much… :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t forget that author is inquiring about Class 2 tipper work… :stuck_out_tongue:

If i can i will max the hours out if im tramping. Thats why you see tippers racing to the weighbridge before they close so you can tip and then drive off for a few more hours to the next job if possible instead of parking up at 5pm.
