It is mate & probably more stupid & his lead is longer than yours !
Ive got a new fh420 (drawbar outfit plated at 32t) turning up in about 10days, I’d read about battery problems in the last few weeks and mentioned it to the boss, the hibernation mode is a handy trick to know,
I’ll be the sole driver, well unless the boss wants to run it round the block, and I suppose I’ll have to let him as he’s paid for it.
Re the parking cool option, We initially thought it was standard spec but have since found out it wasn’t.
We specced 24v electrics for microwave (£150 I think), then found cost of a 24v microwave-£500+ think we are going to go inverter route (£150) and then standard microwave. I’ll hopefully use the microwave electrics to power a tv/dvd
Nice one Rob you’ll have too let me know how it goes ! If I do order one it’ll take months to arrive and will need tipping gear fitting no fussed about microwave wiring we don’t do many nights out .
Ours was ordered at the end of August last year, a week or two before I was booked in to do my class 1, so there was no pressure on passing
It passed its type approval on Friday at body builders, transport enterprises, near Leicester. It gets shipped down to dealer mid of this week for pdi, and hopefully we can pick it up end of next week.
This was last pic I got of it, we opted for gt xl cab, twin bunks, leather heated seats, much improvement from my current scrapia p230!
Looks nice rob is it a swap body setup & a-frame drag or centre axle set up ?
Thanks mate, it’s not drop body, would be pointless for what we do.
Trailer is 6.5m body, twin centre axle, running on 17.5" wheels.
It’s being kept plain white, bar our company logo replacing the globetrotter xl above screen, and he’s bought a vanity plate for it.
You on furniture job ?
Sort of! We supply to nursing and care homes around the country, I’ll spend most of my week running palletised stock between our two depots, West Sussex and Derbyshire. I also deliver direct to the homes large items, bedroom furniture, profiling beds, lounge furniture etc. If a care home needs it, we deliver it!
It’s a nice family run firm, transport manager has asked my opinion on what truck I’d like from day one, listened to things I’ve mentioned and been good to his word,
Sounds like a decent company to be at , I’m on a big farm 2 trucks seem to be busy most of the year only an odd night out ( maybe 2-3 a year) & don’t do big mileage lots of moving things between farms & local runs taking produce to packhouses don’t really need a big flash motor but he buys more or less what we askfor within reason!
Thats a right motor for a rigid. You will like it mate. They are lovely to drive.
Think I’ll have a Volvo it’s only 300 yards from my house so no problems for service & repairs
