Nice pic’s,it’s a shame i had to trawl through page’s of scutter to read the few comment’s about the new Merc . Did you have a Merc before this, just wonder how you compare them
Alot of the die hard old Merc fan’s don’t like the new Actros in Ireland because they think it’s actually an Axor. Both have inline engine’s and the star is too high at the front where some of the report’s i hear. Personally i don’t think this narrow/wide cab is a good idea, only MAN and Iveco go that route and it never seemed to acheive anything worthwhile.
Another 5 year’s and mine might be due a change then, this model will probably have been facelifted at least once by then

HI.Yes it has certainly got a few comments.Had mercs for the last 7 years. When the first mega space came out.Obviousley this is all new.And is an improvement in the right direction i think.I’m with you on the wide/narrow cab thing.
Five years. You’ll have to drop a brochure on his desk when he’s not looking.Think volvo and iveco have a new design coming out very soon.
Just got home Daftvader knackered as usual, glad your pleased with the new rig do remember when I had the first Actros when it was new, great truck just didn’t take too long to develop an unusual hatred for the so called Merc dealers I had to deal with.As for the braking we get used to running a rig at low revs and to get the best out of the Merc’s engine brake the revs have to be quite high if I remember but Volvo/Renaults new rig should be out soon then the Merc will have some competition.Enjoy!

Hi Armaggedon. You had long week then. You are correct in saying that you have to keep the revs high to get the best out of the engine brake.New one is a slight improvement over the older one. Will be interesting to see a review on the new volvo/renault that will be out soon. They will have to go some to beat the room in the actros though i think.
