No mate! I left in March! For a better job closer to home! This new one is even closer! If I get it!

good lad hope u get it mate let us know how u get on :sunglasses:

This is a quote from my mate that worked at Leeds, prior to them parting company after I spoke to him today:

“Good luck, (He’s) you’re going to need it.”

Ken.

Ok Ken, we get it, you and you’re mate have an axe to grind with maritime. There’s a thousand employees on here, so it can’t be all bad. Why would you bother ringing your mate for a quote anyway? You ain’t from fleet street and this ain’t the news of the world, so time you got over it me thinks :unamused:

Good luck with the new job I’m on for maritime and it’s a decent job there’s a lot worse out there

I have no axe to grind with Marmitetime, as I have never worked for them, I’m merely quoting what an ex Leeds employee, who happens to be a friend of mine has told me how they operate, in the same way Spanky has, so don’t shoot the messenger here.

Just remember, the grass ain’t always greener.

The Marchwood depot’s nice, the Millbrook one is a ■■■■■■■■

whats the money like at maritime ■■?

whats the money like at maritime ■■?

I can’t tell you current rates, but since nobody’s replied yet.

When I was there it was.

£375 - basic for 55hrs (based on 11hr days)
£50 meal allowance tax free
£10 / hr overtime after 11hrs per day NOT 55hrs per week like some places
£10 / hr saturday for 1st 5hrs, guarenteed 5hrs, and £14 after that or if you did a delivery on a Saturday it was all £14.
I think Sundays were £14 too, but can’t remember.
Can’t remember night out money, £22 ish I think, most parking is on account (no meal voucher included) or in depots (most of which have showers, microwaves, tv, wifi etc)

There was also a fuel bonus paid now and then, but you don’t stand a chance of getting it whilst you’re cab hopping or if night man uses your truck :imp: So no idea what that works out to.

I know they’ve had a pay rise since then, think the basic went upto £385, no idea on the rest though.

Great tackle, microwave, fridge, coffee maker all built in. Fantastic! Quinny and Shuttlespanker mention the brothers. Not fantastic. Good luck! Keep Mr Nuttall’s number in your phone just in case.

thats pretty much the same as now mate

I have it on good authority that night men at Tilbury are on £510 + £50 meal allowance a week! HTH

Yes Des that’s the night rate. But they don’t get much ot if any. The way I see it is I get a good wage for what I do. Your REAL work is little over driving hours. I feel I get a good rate for what I do, seeing as I’m usually sleeping, watching tv or on the phone whenever I’m not driving. For the record, I would want over £500 a week for driving a 7.5 tonner with all the graft involved when not driving. So for those who think it’s crap money, it’s not. I’m on more money than I got at coltons, which was a good wage, and I don’t strip any tilts anymore :sunglasses:

Jay! I wasn’t being critical about the rate! Just saying as that’s what was offered to me when asked to apply for a job there! I declined the offer as Tilbury is too far for me to drive to every night!

I haven’t done a Tilt for 4 weeks now! Trunking you see!

cliffton 27, what happend to your other job then, thought you got on with Coltons
