7.25 an hr for the first 48 9.25 after that 20 quid a night out with a hr a day deducted for breaks if i got a good week in 60 hrs pluss id take around 450 a week which in my eyes is ■■■■
the work was general haulage a lot of knauff insulation and premier foods jobs exhibitions an when its quiet they would send you to stoke to do dunelm store deliverys as they own all there units and trailers too
to be fair i have worked for a lot worse firms they never bothered me and all the units were well maintained it was just the money

Definately going to be better of at Maritime mate, no docking for breaks, higher overtime rate, higher night out rate etc.
That sounds ■■■■ - or should I say normal now? - for the work tbh
I know you wasn’t knocking it des. That was aimed elsewhere. I was using coltons as the example because that was my last job
well 2 weeks have passed and so far so good the lads in the office have been pretty helpful not had as many nights out as id like so far done quite a lot of fairly local work although i have at least been to felix for the first time and got that out the way as that was the one port i didnt fancy

Get your shower at a services before parking in Liverpool mate, the shower there is CRAP!
Same with Thamesport.
Staff at Liverpool are sound as a pound, bit of a bouncy ride to get there though, and feels weird going through the security in your car, or did to me anyway.

whats the money like at maritime ■■?I can’t tell you current rates, but since nobody’s replied yet.
When I was there it was.
£375 - basic for 55hrs (based on 11hr days)
£50 meal allowance tax free
£10 / hr overtime after 11hrs per day NOT 55hrs per week like some places
£10 / hr saturday for 1st 5hrs, guarenteed 5hrs, and £14 after that or if you did a delivery on a Saturday it was all £14.
I think Sundays were £14 too, but can’t remember.
Can’t remember night out money, £22 ish I think, most parking is on account (no meal voucher included) or in depots (most of which have showers, microwaves, tv, wifi etc)There was also a fuel bonus paid now and then, but you don’t stand a chance of getting it whilst you’re cab hopping or if night man uses your truck
So no idea what that works out to.
I know they’ve had a pay rise since then, think the basic went upto £385, no idea on the rest though.
thats pretty much the same as now mate

Take no notice bet hes not on that money.
If you going to comment show us your wage slip truckulent.
Sent from my iPad but adjusted even more to ■■■■ winseer off.
I’m self employed mate so don’t have one…
But the rates quoted are around £6.81/hour and I can confirm even steady Eddie pays better - and I wouldn’t work for their rates either…
On boxes (an easy job) I would charge around 50% per hour more or a job rate based on likely shift time, then o/time at time and a half…and though lots won’t pay that, more than enough will ta v much!!!
Not everyone has the ■■■■■■■■ to go s/e though and if you’re happy mate that’s great. But it doesn’t alter the fact that my description was still accurate…
The only thing Truckulent ever contributes to the forum is snide comments about other people’s pay and how much better off he is than everybody else. Don’t worry, you’ll get used to him.
clifton do youhave a permanent motor ? if so reg ■■ our yard is next to maratimes in liverpool my mate works in the office there too, will keep an eye open for ya

Absolutely (apart from many posts helping newbies on the other board), and how ■■■■■■ off does that make you, poor boy??
lmao
‘Oooh dear, another driver on low pay has his feathers ruffled’…

Truckulent lives in dream land, he’s also a bit of a numpty IMHO.
I think the rates at Maritime were ok, used to come out with a decent wedge at the end of the week, ok I did the hours, but considering I was away all week anyway, I’d rather be getting paid than parked up spending.
Not like it was hard work, and there’s no deductions for breaks etc, so 55hrs may = £6.81, but most places would only pay you 51 1/4 hrs for that time, which - if it’s 385 now - is £7.51 per hour.
But, considering that you get 11hrs a day holiday pay, so on your hols you still get £77 per day. And if you’re in work, you get the meal allowance too of £50 / week tax free (don’t think you get this if you’re on hols), that makes 435 for 55hrs = £7.90 or if you were deducted 45mins a day like most places £435 for 51.25 = £8.48.
You get a microwave and fridge in your truck, so don’t have to spend a fortune out either, can stop and nuke some noodles or porridge or whatever = saving money too.
Wouldn’t like to do the curtain sides for that money, but for boxes, it’s a pretty decent rate in my opinion.

A dreamland where I earn more…indeed it must seem like I work in Nirvana compared to some of you lads that think unless you work your ■■■■■■■■ off for 6 quid an hour you aren’t a proper trucker…so who’s the numpty??
If you’re really happy with £6.82 an hour, I know of a paper round going…lol
Number two with ruffled feathers…
