New job time (again!)

I feel totally violated (and not in the good way) that a thread on an internet forum posted by a complete stranger (although virtual acquaintance) has no truth in it whatsoever.

He will be telling us next he never even went home for his phone or diverted to Chester services for a posh ■■■.

pish:
You have got to be kidding me… 12 pages of this pish…■■

Like going back to bloody school.
No wonder we get treated the way we do by office pr1cks and joe public these days. Most of you give 'em an excuse.

With every new day that passes I’m becoming more and more convinced that the best job would be one that involves minimal to no interaction with either office staff, the public, nor drivers at all.

hook line and sinker come to mind.

Hey 69er, I will give you an update on the new job soon. My new employer no doubt WILL give me the boot.

And hopefully the matching one to go with it. PPE is vital to a professional like me

Nice to see the lads on here who genuinely wished me luck…(unlike the worms, who know who they are) On a side note, I see Modal Universal Group Systems have vacancy’s available…

So is 123Smith genuine then?

Don’t know whether this 123 character is genuine or not mate, but I reckon he/she has a crush on me

whats the start date for the new mugs job beaver

I can’t believe the ones among you who think it’s a COMPLETE wind up, I mean would he come on slander and name a co with all the repurcussion risks involved if the events were not true? I doubt it, .(…unless it is just me that has been done over of course :unamused: )

I would say the events did happen and only the ‘.new co’’ name bit bit is the wind up.

Got a picture of all the low life among us googling the name with the sole intention of dropping him in the ■■■■

I reckon Downtons will just love all this negative ‘publicity’ and if it stops them treating their drivers like kids fair play to EB.( but I doubt that)

Good luck with your new job mate, whoever it may be with.

Take care out there Beaver, it’s a dog eat dog world.
I knew it was a wind up from the start. Nobody can afford a Costalot coffee on Downton wages.

Nah you’re ok in my book HS, …you are bound to be, you’re a Stobby driver.

I wouldn’t promote you to that rank mate!

Had a quick squint through some of the posts. Hey Beaver have you ever considered that one day very soon a company will realise you have had hundereds of jobs when only been driving 5 minutes and they will promptly turn you away. It will all catch up on you unless you change your ways.
You have to stand up for yourself but you sound as if you are becoming unemployable because you want everything your own way and you do not like being told what to do.
Maybe you should become a planner. lol.

That’s the best post in 13 pages of crap :grimacing:

Robroy, you’re a fair poster but have to say you seem to have some sort of affinity that the sun shines from the OP. Perhaps it’s because you’ve laid your stall out with him and don’t want to end up with egg on your face. I’ll hold my hands up straight away and say I did Google his new company as I thought “I’ve not heard of them” and his new firm sounded interesting and found they didn’t exist  . So I do have egg on my face at the little joke. But I’m interested in haulage so that’s my excuse  .

No one is writing to new companies, there is no “plot”. It’s nothing more than an over blown thread about a man who broadcast his discipline problems and then fibbed a bit about a new company. Having created a thread to announce his personal discipline woes, people discussed it then he tried to keep a normal subject going that would have fallen away by using some small games and now people are just left saying “oh right, whatever then”. Very banal, very everyday. I couldn’t blame anyone for thinking there’s an element of self indulgent stirring going on. I’m sure Eager is a good bloke away from computer land but not exactly a folk hero. He’s just yet another who’s been fired from a job, good luck Eager whatever the real new role is.

Oh the drama EagerReciever, hilarious to read that even your biggest fan cannot offer you his full support…

robroy:
…I aint going to face it out and say that sort of off route distance is not worthy of a bollocking granted of course it is…Beaver aint doing himself many favours by his wind ups.

Well said Robroy, brother worm!

It’s the femininity that comes across in your posts that attracts me!

Carry on hamming it up Sister Beaver.

Feed them and they will come. Throw a bit of seed and they still come

I bet there are quite a few on here who thought " Brian Armitage, let’s Google it and send an e-mail or make a phone call " , because unfortunately there are a number of saddo’s on here who struggle to separate REAL life from internet life.

Coming on here is a laugh for me more than anything, and sometimes I will learn from the older guy’s. But ultimately we are a bunch of strangers, so bar a few of the lads on here that I have met in person, and a couple that I haven’t but enjoy their banter, I really couldn’t give a toss about your opinions.

Focus your efforts & energy on improving things for your fellow drivers instead of fantasising over me

Growing a backbone becomes quite easy once you apply yourself. Oh, just for the record-Robroy was in on the plot a while back PMSL

Come on then rob, would you have done what he did? Do you think he’s done anything wrong? When you ran your own trucks what would your response be if this happened with one of your drivers? Obviously this will vary from someone doing this on their 1st day with you to someone that’s been with you for 20 years. And to clarify, roughly he set off on a 11 mile round trip starting and finishing in the yard, but ended up doing roughly 37 miles taking 2 planned detours.

And do yourself a favour and don’t make out that anyone with a different opinion to yourself or beaver is brainwashed

Firstly thanks a lot for the favour advice mate, but don’t bother yourself, I do not think that, I do actually and genuinely think many are company brainwashed, if that does not suit you I can not help that.

Ok, if it had been done to me, and it was the first time, I would have had more respect for that guy if he had just give me the heads up quietly that the firm would not be happy with me calling round home, instesd of scurrying along to his superior loving the fact he had dropped me in the [zb].
Granted he would have got a ‘‘What? well for [zb] s sake’’ sort of response, but at least it would have not been blown out of all proportion to the point where I lost my job, …even though I would maybe have looked around for something else if I was hounded or treated as anything less than an adult.

As for the boot on the other foot, my firm and a driver doing the same, I did not have many lads leave me as I looked after them, they were mostly older than me, I was in my 20s so yeh they tried it on, but we soon came to an understanding who was in charge.
I would have weighed up the situation , if I thought it was worth mentioning depending on how good a lad he was, and any tolerance depending on what he had done for me in the past,.
Then if I did not like it tell him, and that would be it, job done.
Not make a song and dance by forming a [zb] ‘disciplinary hearing’ :unamused: or whatever management buzzword phrase they use, as if he had committed murder.
Hope that answers all your questions.

Sorry, my fault, I wasn’t clear enough, I meant would you purposely turn an 11 mile trip into a 37 mile one for 2 planned detours? And do you think beaver did anything wrong?

Look mate if what you say is true, I aint going to face it out and say that sort of off route distance is not worthy of a bollocking… granted of course it is.

However just had a quick flick through Beaver’s posts, to check before I answered you, and as far as I see he reckons it was a 6 mile off route.
Ok, going off route will be frowned upon, but an official ‘disciplinary hearing’ followed by big co. style ‘severe warning on record’ and/or the sack? :open_mouth:
That what my gripe was,… mountains and [zb] molehills , over the top, pretentiousness and pomposity at it’s worst imo, what this industry never had until recent years, and does not [zb] need. :bulb:

As for me, I will go off route to find a suitable overnight parking place every time neccessary (always have since they shut all the town and city truck parks) maybe up to about 5 miles, and I will defend my reasons for doing it everytime as I refuse to park in any lay bys, which by their nature are unsuitable, or overpriced rip off MSAs. or in the middle of nowhere.
(To be fair I did tell my employers before employment started)

If we all did so, the present govt’s policy of ‘could not give a [zb] because drivers will put up with it’ may change, but solidarity? …Don’t make me laugh, look at some of the attitudes on this thread alone, :unamused:
Ok maybe Beaver aint doing himself many favours by his wind ups, but a driver has been booted when a simple talking to would have sufficed…that is the problem here. :bulb:

But beaver also awarded me a star because he said the route I pulled off Google was the route he took. Come on rob we all know this is why he’s been sacked, this was the final straw. He’s said the planners had already said he had a liking for Chester services, going off his posts, he’s the sort of driver any average good driver loves, because he makes them look great, so hardly a model employee, couple that with rocking up late on Monday, there was only going to be one outcome. You’re on another planet if you think hes been hard done to, or maybe a feeling a little guilty for planting the seed with someone daft enough to think it was a good idea.

You can’t compare a tramper running about to find facilities at the end of the day to someone turning a yard to yard 11 mile local into 37 miles for 2 planned detours. Be honest with yourself rob

Lol. You are facing a losing battle Stevieworm.

I had already decided last week that I was moving on, which is why I have a new job already sorted for Monday morning.

That’s why I didn’t give a [zb] about being tracked at the services. The fact that I had forgotten my blower in the morning was pure coincidence. I would have had to get the phone anyway so that cannot be counted in your ’ detour ’ scenario.

Instead of going left at J12 to go back to the depot with 2 crappy toilet seats (one of which has never had a seat on since I have worked there so if you get back and someone is using the ‘good’ toilet your quite literally in the sh*t), I opted for a decent toilet and a decent brew instead of the overpriced coloured water in the vending machine which often runs out of cups, and deposits your chosen brew all over your feet.

So if it makes you feel better by pretending I am led by folk on here, then crack on  Personally I think you just can’t get enough of me because you don’t even have the mental discipline to stop responding to my posts. And if you do stop, it’s because I have just made you

Dude, seriously, it might be your thread, but it was your mate rob I was replying to

I m properly confused now so which part is bull and which isn’t lol just interested as I ve wasted an hour reading this■■?
