steve if vdb wasnt for your liking nolans certainly wont.
Nah, joking. I’m not good enough for Euro Class 1 work, I don’t have enough experience.
Wasn’t it just the left ■■■■■■ you were struggling with? if you can drive a truck over here you can drive a RHD across there, it just takes a bit of getting used too. I passed my test and 2 months later I was on the way to Italy, sink or swim! you soon realise you can swim lol,
Not really, I’ve got a European job that pays me £720 for 6 days and a further £50 if I’m weekended. So Phil’s 770 Euros could be real.
Ah but your not working for Nolans
With the exception of 1 member, no one on here knows where I work ;0) It could be Nolans for all anyone knows!
Joking aside, a friend from Tonbridge once applied to Nolans but was turned down because I quote “He lived too near London and all truck drivers from London are thieves!”

On that money I can confidently say your not working for Nolans

We had the same opinion in Yorkshire, that opinion has moved with me

Is that take home? Phils is. My topline for 6 shifts on UK nights tramping is £730 which sees me about £580 in the bank.
sounds about right, you’re home each week. i’m not, and although i havn’t checked all the ins and outs with nolans, the usual set up is a crap basic, silly amount of subsistence, meal allowances, and whatever else they can get away with without you paying tax. and it is the take home amount as far as i know.
but in saying that, from the comments i’ve read on here, i’ll be asking a few more questions.

I find it very odd that a company can quote to a driver what their take home pay would be without knowing the drivers tax situation, I am assuming you didn’t give him your tax situation as your posts which suggest you you had a 4 minute conversation with nolans and therefore wouldnt have had enough time
Interesting to read some of the snide remarks about a mans pay… 770 yoyos is still poor money for a full weeks work, i earned that over 12 years back Ive lived and worked in Ireland this 20 years gone and at the moment its as bad as it could get… Im sitting in The Stockyard taking a 45 and loading in the morning for Germany, i am parked next to a Polish migrant worker who was paid 300 E last week and nothing this week as his trip sheet wasnt processed, he works for Carna , who have just bought new cars for all the boys in the office and yard, very nice huh? We are so badly under the cosh that i see an urgent need to get a Union organised, Unite have one and a half million members and are increasingly interested in Transport as it is in dire need of representation on behalf of the underpaid drivers, the ones at the sharp end of the job and the bottom end of the pay heap.No Irish companies employing foreign drivers are paying anywhere near the rate for the job and without a lot of pressure and solidarity among the Drivers will they feel obliged to… So its Happy Days for some and a real struggle for the rest of us… Good luck with nolans… but dont be surprised if it isnt as advertised ,

Thats the way things are over here. Majority of jobs are got through word of mouth and any driving job i got was always taken with promise of x amount per day after tax. I dont care how they get it to me as long as its there for every day i work. Lots of tricks for getting it but as long as its there its all good
