New c/e driver unwanted

Module 2 = Case Study element at theory test centre

Module 4 = Walk round practical element at driving test centre with vehicle, on a different day after passing driving test.

Both Mod. 2 & Mod. 4 are pass and fail.

This is called Initial Driver CPC (for new drivers) after both Mod. 2 & Mod. 4 passed THEN Periodic Driver CPC begins on 5-yearly cycle.

New drivers get Driver Qualification Card after passing Mod. 2 & 4, with 5 year expiry date.

Thank god somebody helped me out on this post, the four tests that I sat, my head nearly exploded with it all. Needed to learn the whole of the theory test book for parts 1a and 1b, then I had to read HGV book to pass modules 2 and 4 and the tacho book, highway code and numerous you tube videos. Now they want me to go for more tests to get a job. My heads not stopped spinning for 7 months since I started it. I’m still reading the tacho book.

Passed CPC, 02-10-13

what’s all this passed CPC crap about. no buggers ever failed it yet due to not having to pass anything, sleep thru the entire 35 hrs and you have attended and that’s all that is required
however if you have been doing the job for nearly 40 yrs and don’t attend the classroom with a trainer who knows [zb] all about the job you can no longer drive for a living, total load of bollox :imp:

Im on your side but I had to do all 4 parts at the test center as I am a new driver and I could have failed all four, luckily I passed 4 books later, never read a book in my life.
The driving test now is two parts 1 is driving then you go back at a later date and have an examiner ask you question’s and you have to show him how to do all sorts of check’s if you do it wrong it will be another £150.00 for the hire of truck plus £55.00 test fee.this is so vosa can fine you if they catch you with a frayed strap because they say you have your cpc you should know better. :open_mouth: but I am with you.

To sweeper1gg

Well done on passing all modules - that’s a great achievement these days…as I said earlier in this thread you’re position can only get stronger from now on. Don’t forget - you’ve come out with a useable (once you get a start of course) qualification for life. Once you get your foot on the driving ladder - you’ll never be out of work, unless through choice. Yeah, some jobs may have their drawbacks/downsides but there will always be a requirement for LGV/PCV drivers - especially the younger ones to replace the older retirees/non-DCPC compliant etc. So your future should be bright - these days not many people doing LGV start to finish as you have.
YOU WILL BECOME MORE EMPLOYABLE AS THE DRIVER CPC CLOCK TICKS TOWARDS SEPTEMBER 2014!!
