KPI stands for key performance indicators, its basically a poncey corporate phrase which means set targets to hit, most blue chips operate by them these days, its so they can lay the numbers out in front of the directors and or share holders to show how much money they have made or indeed lost.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Performance_indicator

KPI - Key Performance Indicator.

Usually a target is set (eg. miles per gallon) and they will monitor your performance based on how you do against that target.

KPI = Kompletely ■■■■■■■ Invented

Essentially some ■■■■ with pointy shoes, estimates how fast they think you should be able to your job and sets it in stone. The Manglement then need to see improvement, so trim the targets a bit more. It’s also a great way for them to fire the inconvenient workers - keep moving the targets tighter and tighter and blame the workers for missing them.

If you suggest that some ■■■■ with pointy shoes actually scopes out what the job is like from the point of view of the worker, they will look at you as though you’ve started speaking in tongues.

Wonder what would happen if we mailed them replies like this to the agency…?

Maybe ‘get the hint’ - or maybe not…?

I knew agencies were bad, but now seem to be getting worse.

But as said many times here, it’s now a race to the bottom / who can pay the least and get away with it…

Goldfinger…thats a great idea, and also to tell them their company operating procedures are being posted onto trucking sites, and facebook, just to let prospecting drivers understand how the company works.

Ads like this use so many deceitful words, yet not saying anything at all. Why can’t they just tell you what the job is? It’s basically an advert for slaves anyway.

I stopped reading when it got to Hull! :open_mouth:

Sorry Cavey!

Working for a ‘client’ on a ‘variety of different contracts’.

What’s particularly repetitive and monotonous and needs teamwork and performance targets about driving bulkers on recycling.Bearing in mind that the same hours regs and speed and weight limits apply in all cases.

As opposed to possibly working in a recycling depot sorting stuff. :unamused:

In which case an answer to the question is it all driving bulkers on refuse etc type work for one ‘client’ or is it something else would be good before going any further. :bulb:

Not good, is it?

Having said that, I see Downtons are advertising for Class 1 trampers, £9 an hour straight through and £19 night out money, and that’s in Coventry where demand for drivers is said to be high…

downton.co.uk/vacancies/cove … er-driver/

We advertised for a pick up driver ,£10 per hr ,guaranteed 30 hrs pay even if you go nowhere ,£25 per night out and premier inn paid for too, we got 3 applicants ,1 of which has turned out to be good and with no transport background either.

And you only had 3 applications that’s good wage for class 2 let alone transit van work

you need a bit more up stairs than a van driver , a lot of strapping a wide variety of loads ,wider loads ,overhanging loads and sheeting .

Might be more explained ‘if’ the ad actually translates as recycling depot operatives/sorters with LGV 1 licence to drive bulkers as/if/when ( rarely ) required. :bulb:

I think it’s a a bit rich expecting truckers to know about kpi’s - I wouldn’t have had a clue if it wasn’t for Mrs Socketset being in accounts and doing this stuff all the time.

Hey, here’s an idea - lets ask the pointy shoe Audi brigade if they know what a dolly knot is or a dog clip
