Network HGV, can anyone help?

ANIMAL ----- if you dont have anything constructive to say then sometimes its better to say nothing.

John has lost money which now potentially leaves him in debt if not resolved. In my view its no good saying why didnt you ask this or that , or making sarcastic comments. Im sure his wife didnt book it knowing that this would be the result.

Lets hope a matter like this doesnt happen to yourself so no one else basically says " i told you so " :unamused:

Cheers, off to bed now, that’s if I can sleep. This has really knocked my confidence for six.

I see that you have already registered the complaint on this website. Put it on as many as you can find.

In defence of Animal who isn’t being sarcastic or vindictive a simple Google search would have warned you off any of the broker sites.

The advice is always, find a trainer and go and visit their premises, if they wont show you round, they must have something to hide. Many of the training schools get less from a broker than from a direct customer, yet the training schools will often be cheaper than the broker!

LGVTrainer:
Hello Mustang

It is possible for a number of reasons that your test was cancelled either by the DSA or perhaps by the actual training company or indeed perhaps your fears are with good reason.

Try contacting the school that was going to train you and ask if new dates have been arranged or could they contact Network on your behalf. You might also ask them how good their relationship with Network has been up to now and do they have any other candidates booked in through them.

I have a letter from the DSA which states that no test was ever booked for me. The company who were to provide the training have dealt with Network HGV on a no cash no course bassis. I have spoken to them a few times. They were not paid for my course and are owed monies from Network HGV.
My missus looked long and hard before she went with Network HGV, she was not aware that they were brokers.

Thanks for the advice,

John.

Mustang

The test would not have been booked in your name. The training provider would have reserved a blank test slot in their company name. They would only have informed the DSA of your name and details 2 days before the actual test. That is how the trainer booking system works.

You do not say if you have taken this advice.

Good luck Mustang.

Not being sarcastic at all & know it wont happen to me as I am a little wiser than that I wont part with my money that easy I want to see / know what I am getting for it & certainly woundnt spent that much on sales talk all I was trying to do was to prove a point as to how easy it is for people to be sucked in by good sales talk

Ok, thanks for that, not seen that on the other forums I frequent.

SimonB:
I can help. See how I helped another user with a problem with HighwayLGV, read the whole thread to see what happened:

PM me your real name and I can call on your behalf. I volunteer at the CAB and work in training as my main job. Let me have a go. Maybe I can help like I did for Craig.

If I can’t get anywhere, then go to moneyclaim.gov.uk/web/mcol/welcome and register a claim as an individual. This process is quite quick. You will have to pay £125 to register the case - but it is worth it. As you paid by BACS you have no cover, your only choice is to sue.

As I have said before, there are brokers and there are thieves. With a real broker the worst that happens is you pay more for a course (as with the broker we train for) - with the others you get absolutely nothing. They will fob you off with excuse after excuse but all they will do is keep your money.

Si

Simon IIRC you have in the past helped several members with this sort of thing

Hi 99mustang

I had similar problems with HighwayHGV but the guys and girls on here managed to help me out.

To cut a LONG story short, SimonB asked me if he could phone them on my behalf, which he did and that seemed to get things moving. I don’t know what he said to them but they were on the phone to me as soon as Simon had hung up LOL.

Tom from highway was never off the phone until I had paid the full £1200. My theory test was booked and I got confirmation from DSA which was relieving to say the least, however when I arrived at the training centre, I had been booked in but the training hadn’t been paid for!! After a few phone calls and lots and lots of sweary words down the phone, I was allowed into one of the wagons.

I now recommend to everyone that they book their training direct with a training company and while there may be one or two decent(■■) brokers out there, I will never ever use or recommend them to anyone.

Hope you get this sorted mate, keep us in the loop.

Regards

Craig

Really sorry to hear your experiences

We had Mr Manning (owner of Network HGV) on this website only a couple of months ago claiming to be a bona fide and genuine training company and only wanting to help new entrants■■?

Remember he said time would tell if he was genuine or a fake■■?

Fools & their money are soon parted.

There’s very little we can do to help them, if we sort this mess out for them they only go & get themselve’s into another one.

I feel anger that these scum can get away with it, my anger is not directed at the scum itself, but at the scum who allow it to happen. You’d think that the bureaucrats & politicians we pay to sort out this kind of nonsense on our behalf would learn to earn their keep ?

So my wife and I are fools now are we? Thanks very much for your sweeping analysis of our inteligence and personality. I hope you sail through life like a bed of roses and never have anything bad or unpleasant happen to your bubble. Good luck, because you’re going to need it :imp:

It’s a pity that this thread has gone the way it has. The guy came on here looking for a bit of help and support and, although he’s had some, it’s not good to be ridiculed because of a mistake.

It;s so easy for everyone on here to spout off about how daft it is to give money to the brokers - - because we see unfortunate stories like this all too often. And yes, it is daft. But how is an innocent punter meant to tell the difference. With impressive websites and mega sales teams it’s little wonder people pay their money.

Until such time as the industry is properly regulated it will continue to be riddled with rogue traders operating in nothing short of a criminal manner.

It would be so easy to cure this. Ensure that all trainers are registered with DSA and then send a copy of the register with the provisional licence with information that to deal with anyone else is dodgy.

I get really uptight when I hear of people loosing their money; it’s clearly dishonest and it brings the industry into disrepute. A new customer looking into the industry should be able to rely on it’s professionalism and integrity. Plenty of people pay me for courses on the phone and they don’t know me from Adam. But they like the website and what they hear on the phone. They’re not stupid - but they’ve dropped lucky as they won’t be robbed.

I sincerely hope there is a good resolution to this situation and wish you all the best. Pete

Peter. I don’t think the OP was ridiculed in the beginning, it was comments from someone with size 10’s that started it off  I agree with you that it puts your own industry in a bad light, although a quick Google search brings up nothing but roses in Mansfield. If anyone puts in HGV LGV Training in a search engine, and avoids the sponsored links, the “good” information is there to be gleaned.

Just to keep the thread live. I have quoted a “quote from the other thread”

Steven Manning:
What benefit do I bring to YOUR industry, I don’t know who appointed any of you as HGV Training Mediators. I bring benefits to my business and my customers / trainees and the companies that I help them find work with and for. As for having to justify it with online testimonials, I’ll leave the other companies to MAKE that stuff up.

As for any further explanations, I wont be drawn back in to have to explain the companies Mission Statement to any of you on here.

As long as the customers / trainees, employers / businesses are happy then Network Logistics Training Ltd are happy.

I wont be posting on this thread any more as everything has been explained to MINE and MY COMPANIES satisfaction, if not yours.

As per usual, should anyone have any questions or queries about HGV Training, you are more than happy to contact Network Directly.

It appears Mr Manning is no longer involved, but he certainly had a lot to say about his company for a mere minion.

Mustang don’t take too much to heart from here they are a good bunch all will help how and when they can it’s just unfortunate for you and your wife that you looked on this forum too late.
Some will rag you over things but that’s life we all do it from time to time so just accept the odd knock and enjoy the help on future posts good luck in getting sorted Ed
