As above I need to buck my ideas up and pass the C+E.
I have rebooked it after my fail but I really need to get it done.
I absolutely hate my job and when it feels like you are there all the time. Well 6 days a week.
I checked my wages for the 4 weeks and I come out with £917.00 take home.
It makes it feel like it’s not worth it.
This wage includes a pay rise aswell.
So I need to pass my C+E and start looking for a new job.
In the grand scheme of things I want to buy myself a house but I cannot even think about it on these piddling wages.
Sorry for the rant it’s just I work my arse off for this place and only coming out with that amount of money seriously irks me.
Well done on passing next time round!! With that amount of motivation you’ll be fine.
Just keep the p.m.a. and concentration during the test.
Good luck with the job-hunt.

Have a word with your dad / mum when it commes too finances for a house , that’s what were there for , we don’t just slam the door shut on you when you get too 16 .
We’re just in the process of helping my girl / boyfriend ( 25/31 ) with there first step on the housing ladder .
Her boyfriend is a pretty sensible lad and reAlises the pots not bottomless , but my girl is proving more difficult ( takes after mum ) , apparently according too my girl we also ( dad ) offer a full redecoration service for free
Who are you working for 6 days a week, to take home £917 for 4 weeks work? I feel you are duty bound to put up a bloody Public Health Warning, so we can all give it a swerve!

Thanks Dozy,
My parents are not in the position to help.
If they were they would but they are struggling along at the moment.

I work for a large supermarket driving ther home shopping vans.
We have had a pay review and all the time and a half for overtime etc has now gone.

All I get is time and a half on a Sunday.
Wow! Please don’t take this the wrong way, but if you’ve had a Cat C for nearly a year, why are you still driving vans where “every little clearly doesn’t help…”?
Vikings Fatherly advice to you Tom is-
Get your Arse out of there as soon as possible, there’s no money working for the shops, they rely on unskilled/uneducated labour, so they can pay minimum wage & trap you into a never ending whirlpool of debt. At least if you get your Class 1, you can earn good money at weekends or nights & more than you do now, on days.
This isn’t meant to rub salt in etc etc but I work for a large supermarket and I know drivers who aren’t afraid of doing max hours and use POA wisely are on your wage a week! Get out and nail your retest and I promise your never look back - good luck
I can only echo what has already been said. Why, when you have a class 2 licence are you still driving a van? Even the worse paid agency will net you more than what you currently take home. It’s a big step up from van to artic. Rigid to artic should be a smoother transition.

Thanks the only reason that I have stayed with Tesco is because I wanted to pass my C+E then look for a C+E job as class C does not interest me
Thanks again Thomas

Thanks I agree that supermarket work does not pay.
Once I have passed my C+E then even though I would still be working there until I find a job I will know that I have my licence and it will be just a case of time.

Can’t really fathom your logic pal, for a start do you not think that some Class C work would good initial experience?
When you failed your C+E, can you say that your lack of being familiar with driving Class C had no bearing?
Do you think C+E employers are going to have reservations about your complete lack of experience on anything other than VANS?
